overwintering Winter-Summer in OZ "Comparison" / Aussie Blabberers

Brrr ... that looks freakin' cold, geeme!   Can you keep that in the northern hemispere, please! I'm pretty sure they said on our local news the other night that only 2 states in the US don't have snow atm, Hawaii and Florida. Does that sound about right?

    Anyone growing Yaki blue?

All I know is that the seeds came from The Chilli Factory. Overall plant colour is very dark / purple. Plant shape is almost identical to my Jalapenos. Oh well ... let the wait begin :P

Fantastic capture, mate    Can't really I.D. them from that but it appears to be 2 spiders of the same sex (I'm guessing male) so not a mating ritual. Did the spider that is onscreen at the end walk away or was it 'off to spidey heaven'? I'm thinking it was fine? To me, it appears to be...

The wasps are pretty much the 'apex predator' around here, they massacre all other insects and spiders. I love the jumping spiders, they have soo much personality, they are so cool!   Shh, don't tell anyone but I actually talk to the jumping spiders as I'm photographing them, tell them to...

video Nectar for The Gods...Scott Ostrander...Youtube

Interesting video, Jim.   Maybe I'm just becoming more of a cynic the older I get but does organic gardening really need to be this complex? You would have to sell your entire canna crop just to be able to afford to buy their range of supplements ;)   KISS - keep it simple, stupid.

    Plants growing slowly??

You've got to be a bit careful with peat moss, when it stays damp it's great at absorbing moisture but if you let it fully dry out it will be extremely hydrophobic (repels water) unless it has been treated with 'wetting agents'. I reckon 75% peat moss is way too high. It's either going to absorb...

Intensive Care Unit ?? ;)  yeah, that's pretty much where a close-up of a wasp would put me    But seriously, that's a mighty fine shot, lighting is excellent, makes the SOB look evil !

    The Great Kiwi Pepper Thread

I'm pretty sure it's ok for anyone to use the term 'Carolina Reaper'. I think Ed copyrighted "Smokin Ed's Carolina Reaper" so your not able to use that name without permission.

Awesome work with the testing, Aussie.   Hopefully one day, there will be a breakdown on how the different capsaicinoids effect the 'heat profile' of peppers ie: pure heat vs sting, duration of burn, immediacy of burn etc.

Nicely done, Aussie!   How many grams of dried pods do you need to perform these tests?

Haha ... yer I guess it could fly and accidentally stab you in the eye with its long pointy beak ... and the eye wound could turn septic ... and then delirium sets in ... and in your confused state you could stagger onto a highway ... and get cleaned up by a greyhound ... bus! So yer, you're...
