the one we grew definitely smelled better than it tasted. bruised it had a definite after 8 vibe but the chocolate note was more bitter baking chocolate on the taste. as with any miint , growing in pots is preferred if you don't want it going wild and taking over large area.

not sure exactly where you are but there is a variety with a very cool name., KangaRu rhubarb . it is supposed to be more heat tolerant. I just googled, says zone 8 if that helps.

finally made it to the new taproom of one of my favourite breweries. cherry cafe del bastardo was only on tap and pretty phenomenal. the cherry was subdued but definitely worked with the coffee and bourbon barrel.
