indoor Grow tent Habanero dropping flowers, curling leaves

Raise your light about 12 to 24 inches and see if it helps.. In your case you can see all that large lush growth middle down. Then you see new growth that is withered and curled. Also, there are flower pods growing. Novice here. But from what Ive read, there has been a drastic increase in light...

cooking Steak in the Oven/Stove. Thick Cuts.

Everyone should have a favorite butcher! The meat is usually cheaper in price and better in quality, and offer more choices in types! Plus ground beef is from your known source. Just to throw it out there, do you know T Bones are two different cuts of meat? Strip (New York) and tenderloin. Your...

    300gal Water Trough - Soil? Zone 8

Lol, I exaggerated the height. Its about 2.5 feet tall. I did get permission from the owner to take it though. Reason Im interested is I can keep control of the soil. Also, I rent my house so it would be semi portable if I move. Biggest down side is the limited growth season in the area.

    Padron - Western Washington Plateau.

Too close! New light is too intense. I thought maybe I wasnt getting enough ventilation because of the leaf curl, but its the new grow light. I pulled it off and put my other lights back up. They arent really strong enough at this distance but will have to do until I get home from work and can...

pests New growth not looking good

Not the airflow, but it cant hurt for later. The leaves would be curling up on the edges and the bottom of the leaves would have a texture like sugar on butter. If you can see them, or your taller plants shake in the winds regularly then you probably good. Im thinking too much light intensity...

pests New growth not looking good

How is the air flow? Maybe add a small fan a few times a day... Might want to try figuring out the light height by PPFD and light per day to get good height on them. Just google PPFD for hot peppers and it should give you a few ideas on how to figure and adjust.. Light Calculators On page two...

pests New growth not looking good

Hi Jack. Just a guess but it seems that your plants arent getting height. You have a great canopy going there, but they should be 12 to 16 inches tall with that growth. Pull your grow light to 24inches away, or maybe even remove it for a bit. Think of pepper plants as 4 to 6 foot tall bushes...

cooking Steak in the Oven/Stove. Thick Cuts.

Oh you can do both dry and wet brine with various different seasonings. With the dry brine, there are some recipes that call for salt and pepper on steak. You could use an assortment of other spices. However, the reason you dont with this in this recipe is because the change of flavor of the...

    300gal Water Trough - Soil? Zone 8

Hi guys! Hypothetical here... Say you have the opportunity to acquire a 300gal, 6ft round x 4ft tall bucket used for watering cows. Think general purpose soil for multiple plants on a small scale per foot.. Lets say 10+ different plants of root or stalk types. Also, its zone 8 outside. So you...

    Padron - Western Washington Plateau.

Just transplanted and gave them a bigger home.. They werent root bound. However, the pots I was using had such low drainage and small drip plates, the soil was compacted 2inches from the bottom. You can see the type of pots I was using. DONT USE THEM!! lol. Maybe for sprouting, then get them...

    Padron - Western Washington Plateau.

So I bought a spider farmer light. Probably better all around, plus I have other options if it stays cold. Ill get to that later.. Last two days they've been outside for a while in full sun. Unfortunately Im guessing they are already root bound, or very close to it. And here comes more cold...

    container Grow Bag Mishap?

First, dont water them anymore until you can stick your finger in two inches and it comes out dry dirt. They dont look bad at all, just keep an eye on the soil. They like slightly damp, not wet. If it looks like the soil got compacted/reduced by water flow, just let it dry out and add soil to...

    Padron - Western Washington Plateau.

Yeah, so bad! Too windy and too cold for at least the next week to harden. Below 60deg high, cloud cover, and 8mph sustained winds with gusts into the 20s. Im thinking Im going to transplant to the 5gal inside and can postpone the hardening until the weather gets more solid. Then basically start...

fertilizer When and how often to fertilize peppers in containers

Hi Sac. From what I get off other sources, Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Fox Farm Happy Frog potting soil last about a month of plant feast and water leaching. Im guessing that also depends on how much you have used to fill you 5gal. After that, maybe add fertilizer once a month? Instead of using...
