Then to craziness on deck. These Superhots (Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, White Trinidad Moruga, Apocalypse Scorpion, White Moruga Scorpion and Pink Tiger x Reaper can be found. The stalks on some of these are larger than I can believe. They are about twice the size they...
Then to the containers in front of garden (in back). This spot has always done well for me as one of handful of areas that gets good sun (we have HUGE Oak and Pine trees in our yard). More Datil, Big Thai, Helios, Sugar Rush Peach, Red Savina here.
Then onto the Container update. First are some outside of garden near our grill. Lemon Drop, Santo Domingo, Carolina Reaper, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, White Trinidad Scorpion, Helios, Scotch Bonnet's and more can be found... (there are more in containers - just not pictured - Cayenne, Prik Chi...
Backside garden - where everything from more Helios, Datil, Superhots, Cayenne, Aji Amarillo, Aji Pineapple, Atomic Starfish, Big Jim, Thai Hot, Thai Culinary, Thunder Mountain, Caribbean Red, and many more are coming on strong...
Now on to the real reason for this update!
Helios (Orange Hab), Scotch Bonnet, Datil, Serrano, Jalapeno, Big Thai, Red Savina, Sugar Rush Peach all flowering and starting to produce! (front garden)...
Cucumber and Tomato row. I have been planting Cucs in weekly fashion as hoping to have them last longer. So you will see handful producing and others catching up. This is a trial - appears to be working at this point... Tomatoes - I've never had this large this early - nor have I been...
Finally able to update! Things are looking good. Peppers growing and much larger than my last few years - so the new way of making soil with Peat Moss/Perlite/Vermaculite is making a huge difference on them. As I believe I mentioned before, i used to use Miracle Grow Garden soil to start my...
Superhots on the deck are larger than they have ever been at this point in the season. That bodes well for my harvests!
14 Carolina Reapers, 3 White Moruga Scorpions, 3 White Trinidad Scorpions, 7 Trinidad Moruga Scorpions, 5 Apocalypse Scorpions, 4 Pink Tiger x Reapers (second pic)
Will...
Then to containers... I have several in front of back garden - and by grill... There are more - just not worth posting at this point. All were in protection mode - as sun was beating on today. All perked back up once sun was off later this afternoon.
UPDATE: SUNDAY 5/19/24
All peppers, Tomatoes are planted in garden/containers. I have 507 Peppers IN! 416 in garden (in ground) and rest in contrainers/buckets. I'll attach a few pictures of the madness... Still have a bunch of peppers in greenhouse. This is the sad day :) They are not...
:) Yes. It definitely becomes a challenge, but something I've learned over the years - the peppers love to be elbow-to-elbow with other peppers. And if having to work to get down my rows - means i get a bunch more to pick... I'm game
Last but not least for the update... the Superhots on the deck. These typically get over 5-6 feet tall in these buckets (the LOVE it) and produce like crazy... so far they are looking good. Have the Pink Tiger/Reaper creation to add (6) at some point when they get big enough) and could add few...
Then my containers start to get filled with the healthiest in greenhouse - of things I want more of... Thai Dragon, Helios, Scotch Bonnet, Carolina Reaper, Lemon Drop, etc... more to come here as I have a FULL greenhouse still - and lots of containers to go...
Back garden peppers... Carolina Reapers, Apocalyspe Scorpion, Trinidad White Moruga, White Moruga Scorpion, Trinidad Moruga (had to add a row of superhots because so many look amazing in greenhouse - they will not go wasted! Cayenne, Datil, Helios, Thai Hot, Thai Dragon, Thai Culinary, Numex...
Front garden (and neighbors front yard). Helios, Helios, Scotch Bonnet Freeport, Sugar Rush Peach, Datil, Red Savina, Antiplano, Santa Domingo, Hot Rod (Serrano's), Jedi, Dante, Everman, Early (Jalapeno's), Big Thai and Thai Dragon found here...
OK, I FINALLY have all the peppers in the ground (that are going in ground). I have more to add to containers and 2 rows of tomatoes to finish off (they are about a week from being ready. This will work out as the first ones (you will see below) are huge - and these should produce long after...
That looks good to me. I use Foxfarm Grow Big liquid fertilizer early then switch to Tiger Bloom after one dose of Grow Big in garden. Every 14 days is good and the plants seem to love it. Some of the peppers in my greenhouse are already a foot to foot 1/2 tall and HUGE leaves. Whatever you...
