Does the plant use the white foliage for gathering energy as well? I am debating moving it away from a growlight for a indoor plant (for isolating) and am wondering if it would require a grow light due to the low green surface area.

Quick update. We are finally hitting highs of +14c (57.2f) on occasion here. Paul,   I have trimmed them down some more. My longest living rock wool cuttings are seen here as well going on 1.5weeks without wilting. I will take what you have said an apply it to the lighting.

  I have tried with two cuttings and maybe my ambient temp is not high enough but they all seem to wilt and die after 1+week I started leaving larger leaves on them as I worried maybe I took too much off. I do have a aerogarden right now I can try out.

Progress is slow but it is steady. The VJ is doing well and I am seeing some new growth on it. I would like to thank everyone for updating and for sending us the seeds to grow with the group.  

One last thing I am hesitant to say 'fixed' but would assume it's more luck. The coming weeks will tell. The good news is house RH% and average temp starts to go up this week as it slowly slowly warms to -10c
