    Missing the throwdowns

It's been two years almost to the day...maybe it's time to rethink...restructure and bring back the almighty throwdown!!! Anyone else miss watching the throwdown threads every month???

    stc's comeback down south grow...

Quick update...some of this was posted over on the Harvest thread...       Scotch Brain   Don't know exactly what variety these are, but I save seeds and grow them every year. They have decent heat and are perfect for pickling.   These are two different jumbo Jalapeno varieties...both have...

    Deolater 2019

Very nice pepper container island! I always grow several newmex ornamental varieties. For the most part they are tough and chewy with zero sweet/fruitiness. Not good on their own, BUT if you wait for them to ripen full red dry them, throw them in the food processor with some garlic and onion...

CaneDog 2019 Hirsute Pursuit – Rocotos, Wilds & Moar

Man...when it rains it pours over here! Lots of awesomeness to look at. Love the neuter pics. I do the same for my crosses...never thought about what Paul said, but yeah that would work and you wouldn't have to keep a limb under wraps for a couple weeks..and in that case you wouldn't have to...

    2019 Hay Bale Pepper Patch

I've had decent luck with Sevin Dust on stink bugs and squash bugs, but I hate using it because it also kills my beneficial bugs.

CaneDog 2019 Hirsute Pursuit – Rocotos, Wilds & Moar

Everything is looking awesome over here. You're making me wish I'd grown some pubes this season. Maybe next year. I can personally vouch for the Aji Amarillo doing well in cool, damp and even somewhat shady conditions. I had one overwinter with several hard frosts and no real effort on my part...

It's been a roller coaster month...grandson born, 25th anniversary, my wife's 50th birthday. We discussed many options for anniversary/birthday gifts but she settled on a new camper. We traded in our old travel trailer for a 5th wheel.      one of my "not" Fatalii...squatty but still yellow...

    Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

Safe travels my brotha! Nice hauls as well! I have some picking to do myself...been on the busy train like the rest of y'all. Hit me up if you're close by and maybe we can get a beer...or more.

    PaulG 2019

Man...always a lot of action over here! Really hope THP fixes whatever is causing your double and triple posts...and having to post one photo at a time. It's already a pretty big time investment to make a decent post...but having to make like 8, 9 or more is ridiculous. You have to be the only...

CaneDog 2019 Hirsute Pursuit – Rocotos, Wilds & Moar

Looking great CD! I once loved Mucho Jalapenos for stuffing. They have good size and heat, only drawback is they are a hybrid that won't necessarily grow true from saved seed.  I have a few other Jal varieties going this season...some are showing some potential. I'll let you know how mine turn...

    stc's comeback down south grow...

Thanks Brandon...April 1st to some time in November most likely. It may last longer??? Some years we only get a few frosts. May try to put all my container plants together and cover them on frosty nights to see if I can coax them through the winter. I have several browns going...the two in the...

Thanks! Those are Primos, my Reaper has a few small pods on it, but nothing too awesome just yet. My camera settings got changed and the photos didn't get resized like usual so they all appear gigantic.

    stc's comeback down south grow...

Thanks for the kind words...these ripen from light green...pass through purple to orange and then a bright red. They're an ornamental variety called numex twilight my seed source was New Mexico State University's Chile Pepper Institute.     A few more pics for good measure...            ...
