    stc's comeback down south grow...

The first Tepin Popped on the 28th of January...I believe I planted them around 10 days prior to that. They're from pepper lover, but I have several different looking plants. Interested to see how the pods look on all of them.   Guess I know where to come steal some replacement bricks if I need...

So...not much time for explanations, but hopefully you'll get the idea...   So I have 55(ish) plants I kept...of which I may (probably) lose one because it almost completely snapped at the base during a thunder storm a few weeks back...its a tepin, but that is one of the varieties that I have...

    NH Jalapeños 2019 (Runty Lives)

So the center fixture here is some super cheap plug to bulb adapters...some splitters a small power strip and 6 cfls. Total cost under $20 and it grows some killer plants. I used to do this with 4' power strips to cover a 2'x4' shelf with great results. Super easy.

    Four-Pepper False Start Glog

Those plants don't look too bad...I think its just a matter of time. Most of them drop a ton of blooms before they finally set. You could try a qtip pollination a couple times a day???

    Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

Yeah...i thought she would be asleep, but she waited up. Lesson learned! I hear you on the heat and shade cloth makes a huge difference. Have you tried misting/fogger heads on a drip system late in the day? I think maybe on a timer with 15 minute cycles. They have a low flow rate and would lower...

    stc's comeback down south grow...

My wife only likes the ornamentals, Numex style green chiles like big jim or 6-4 and mildish jalapenos for poppers. Never grown pineapple.      So in keeping with the curiosities of my starts this season...I got 2 MOA's to sprout seeds from pepper joes, they are both falling way behind in size...

    stc's comeback down south grow...

I just dump stuff in until I think it tastes right??? I use the food processor or blender for flake...If its powder I use the old coffee grinder. Usually just garlic and onion powder, but occasionally I dump in some sea salt for hot salt.           Momma has a dark brown thumb much like GPR's...

    Devv-2018-Loving life in the dirt

First time I came home intoxicated to an irritated momma was a trip from Carrizo to Piedras Negras...just me and about 10 of my closest friends in my '76 GMC van. haha. My mom told me to go look at myself in the mirror...then asked me if I would let me date my daughter. I think I said...

Nice plants, truck, toys and ziegenbock! I sure miss Texas...but at least SC feels homier than the land of fruits and nuts out west. Those plants are massive! Mine haven't started to fork yet.

    2019 - Raised Bed Zone 9B Glog

Plant out already??? Congrats...I am only risking it on two tomatoes that were looking pretty bad anyway. If they don't make it the local nursery has plenty of adequate replacements. Couple more weeks before I will chance a full blown plant out. Your starts look healthy enough...I think you may...

    stc's comeback down south grow...

The main reason is my wife likes them in the garden, so it helps her put up with the rest of my plants. They aren't inedible and most ornamental peppers are pretty hot and make decent pepper flake with a little added garlic and onion.
