    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Thanks for the kind words guys. Things seem to keep rolling on with the grow this year. My last plant - a mystery plant at that - has been put into a root pouch. No more sifting coco for me this season! I wanted to make sure they all got put into their final homes before I left for a few weeks...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Yes all the nutrients are coming from the fertilizer so it's LESS of an issue. I say that because assume that you could reach a point where you would be root bound when growing in coco and the roots completely fill all the space in the bucket. I just haven't experienced it yet. On the other...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Thanks! Hoping to get them out into the sun soon. I'm running out of space.   Thanks Rick. I just looked up the invoice on the Blackstar LED. It was $355.95 CAN back in 2013 so t's certainly more than standard Aerogardens. The Blackstar is quite a bit more powerful than the Aerogardens too...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Thanks for the kind words Scott and Rick! Things have been progressing nicely. I've just potted up my reaper and have cut my grow back to 6 plants. Anywho on to the pics... The obligatory root ball shot. In the new home. A 3 gallon root pouch And here's how 6 plants look in my spare...

Trying to figure how just how it is I'm killing these two.

There's nothing inherently confusing about telling people to treat something as hydroponic when growing with coir; especially given the definition of hydroponics - the process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil. Since coir is not soil, it falls...

Trying to figure how just how it is I'm killing these two.

I'm a little confused as to your post stating what I wrote being "ABSOLUTELY false!!!" I stated that you need to feed with every watering. You then go on to say that "the only difference being is how you feed it". Neil

Yep you need to decide on which way to go in terms of growing medium. I've had success with coir, but you have to treat it differently than soil - hydro nutes and feed with every watering. If you go with soil make sure it's a good potting soil. Neil

Looks way too dry to me, but at the same time the burnt tips look like you're also giving them too strong ferts when you do water. How often do you water and what are you growing in? Neil

Whats the verdict with coffee grounds ?

Just trying it this year. My parents bought it, then never used it after the first year. I grabbed it from them. Neil

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Another small update. Pods on! Pods on! I've noticed a few pods forming on my MOA and yellow Jolokia. Although I thought I had started a tad early, it looks like it may have been right on time. We're currently sitting at 24c in APRIL. We're about 10c higher than normal for this time of the year...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Thanks Rick. I haven't kept up on this glog like I had with my original one. I've had decent results with pure coco and General Hydro nutrients. I've tried to keep things really simple until I've built up some experience. So far coco has proven itself to be a great root zone medium and works...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Thanks Scott. I guess it balances out since the wife often says that I have manure for brains [emoji57] . Just potted up my MOA to a 3 gallon root pouch. Just about have the harem selected for this season's grow. So far I have a yellow bhut, a red bhut, and the MOA in their final pots. I'm...

    Blisters 2016 LED Coco grow

Small update to my grow. I've put a few plants into the root pouches now and and sitting back hoping that they'll be able to develop a good strong root system by the time plant out arrives. Progress in the tub... Neil Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk

Now that should do the job! I'd like to have a bit of extra heat in my early season starts too. I keep my house a cool 18.5c at night in the winter and the plants would certainly do better with more heat. Neil

Hope it works out for you. Some of the super hots take a long time to produce. I'm at the opposite side. I'm considerably farther ahead this year compared to last year. I'm a little worried that I'll run out of room. Neil
