    Growing Mushrooms

While I do agree with your statement on sterile technique being paramount, I can’t say I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of your statements. That having been said, while good sterile technique Is important, it is not always possible or practical. In these cases, antibiotics have their use...

    Growing Mushrooms

As a last ditch effort, a hot agar pour can be used but at 140F you have a high likelihood of damaging your culture. I would personally rather isolate from the cleanest section of the plate onto fresh agar with a properly selective medium. If your high pH agar is going to be the deciding factor...

    Dangler 2020

I made the mistake of processing the lot you sent me without gloves. For 6 days I felt like King Midas except everything I touched turned into inferno. I'm still finding hidden chili bombs from things I touched without realizing it. The rest of the household is not pleased.   That having been...

seed-train The annual Mega Seed Train 2020/2021

I'm good for whenever. Do we want to leave space in the middle for late comers or was that too much of a hassle in previous years?

news OH BOY! Dunkin' Doughnuts + Ghost Peppers = Halloween!

Just have to make those eclairs out of cornbread and you'd be set.    I think we may be running off the rails a bit now.

news OH BOY! Dunkin' Doughnuts + Ghost Peppers = Halloween!

I've been wanting to make savory croissants with compound butter for a while now. I think I could probably finagle an Indian or Mexican variant and load it up with pepper powder.    Maybe eclairs with 9 alarm chili as filling?    Standard old fashioned with spicy margarita / tequila glaze?  ...

news OH BOY! Dunkin' Doughnuts + Ghost Peppers = Halloween!

I would think with all of the accomplished home chefs I constantly see on this forum, a superhot doughnut throw down could turn out some pretty unique entries.

food Two Tastes of Tacos, Venison / Chicken

I am blind apparently so thank you for the assist.    But seriously, those aren't any different than run of the mill corn tortillas? They aren't some homemade nixtamalized exotic heritage corn blend?    Because they look absolutely phenomenal.

Alright spill the beans on what you did with those tortillas. They look above and beyond standard fare.

auction CMPMAN1974's End of Year MFRB Pod Auction - Will End 11 PM EST on 10/13/20

Ah what the heck, I'll go in at $50.   I'll be watching this one closely as well!    Also, Chris I tried sending over a PM a little while ago but I think your inbox may be full. If you get a chance I'd love to pick your brain about a variety you used to grow.

seed-train The annual Mega Seed Train 2020/2021

Not saying my way is the right way to do it, but here is an example of what I put in my bags to keep track of all that. I did a mock up in Excel that fits a good portion of that information on there. These should fit in all but the smallest of the zippered bags without needing to be folded.   ...

seed-train The annual Mega Seed Train 2020/2021

So I probably spent more time than I should have going over the past 2 years worth of seed train threads and wanted to clarify a few things for the new riders like myself. Please correct me if I have any of this incorrect.   If you can't find them at your local post office, free bubble mailers...

    Peppers on the move 2020

Oh for sure. Just eager to start producing and giving back. Lots of people here have shared some great information, seed, and produce. I’m hoping once my season comes online in earnest I can get more involved with the community and do things like contribute to the yearly seed exchange, help...

    Peppers on the move 2020

Pepper people are the best. I got very lucky with a spectacularly well curated box of peppers. I got to do a full tasting over two days and killed a gallon and a half of milk in the process haha. That having been said, there's a drink down here called Limon & Nada con Pepino that is hands down...

    Gourd Goals

I picked up some seeds for these as well! A friend of mine grew them this year and they nearly took over his yard. Climbed half way up his two story house. Hoping I can keep them cut back so they don't overtake what little yard we have.

    Crushed Red Pepper genetics

Do you plan to do any molecular work to get a better handle on the genetics or just see what comes out of the jars phenotypically?

seed-train The annual Mega Seed Train 2020/2021

Any chance I could jump on? I know I'm cutting it a bit close. I had hoped to do the seed exchange this year but planting got delayed. That having been said, I do have a bunch of seed that I can swap out on the train.    If not no worries and I'll give it a go another time. Thanks!

    Test of New Grow System

The growth looks great on the squash. Out of curiosity, what was the light on the left hand side of the video? Spiderfarmer? Any comparison between the two? I'm looking at quantum boards now and haven't been able to make up my mind yet.

vendor Ordering Seeds outside of US Questions (Aji Oro Rocoto)

I ordered from THSC a few times since COVID and I have usually gotten mine in 2-3 weeks. Great seller with very good germination rates based on my limited exposure. So hopefully you won't have too much of a wait.
