    Growing Mushrooms

I wish I had seen this thread earlier. I actually used to work for a commercial mushroom spawn company that specialized in ready to fruit mushroom blocks. If any one has any questions about culinary mushroom cultivation or general growing best practices feel free to reach out.

    Peppers on the move 2020

Well after a few days of slow growth on the seedling front, I decided to break down and spritz them with a worm compost tea/slurry. Man did they perk up! Almost overnight they all kicked out a new set of leaves and I feel like Ive finally made back some lost time. Also, thanks to a certain Mr...

    Peppers on the move 2020

I hope this is me one day haha. Out of curiosity, what level of shade cloth would you guess I should aim for once outside?

    Peppers on the move 2020

Yeah... even the shade cloth I had set up didn't help. Hoping that I can keep these seedling going through the winter without getting more lights but we'll see how the temperatures hold for now.

    Peppers on the move 2020

As embarrassed as I am to say it, I underestimated the México heat and sun. My entire first run got obliterated one afternoon where we had highs over 115F (46C). I have started a new set inside and things have been going much better. It may not look like much but 3 weeks in I have over 75%...

    AHayastani's ГЛΟГ

Looks like a great list!   I'm curious how that one variety under the habanada would go over if sold on the local economy  :D

    Peppers on the move 2020

Unexpectedly, from those jalapeños, I have created the most neon green colored dust I have ever seen. Photos really don't do it justice.     Also unexpectedly, the powder is sweet almost like candy but with a mild vegetal flavor and only the ghostly presence of traditional jalapeño flavor.   ...

    Peppers on the move 2020

These guys get sun from about 7:40am until about 1:30pm and then are shaded the rest of the day. That wall on the right hand side starts to cast a decent shadow. I've been trying to source shade cloth (and labels for that matter...) but have had a rough go of it.    Believe it or not, this is...

    Peppers on the move 2020

While there's not much to see at the moment, here's everyone all lined up.    I've got 3 seedlings up so far which is a bit surprising seeing as I just got them in the ground but soil temps are high so I suppose it is possible.     My doubts come from the potting soil itself. Not much variety...

    Peppers on the move 2020

They are coin pockets! I will say, they are a bit of a pain to pull from, especially when you decide that you are going to sort by alphabetical order instead of the date received. But that having been said, it is a lot prettier to look at and keeps small packets of seed from walking away. I...

Guru's Garden - Traveling the World in Search of Peppers

Would mind sharing your supplier for those nets? I haven't been able to find anything that large or inexpensive and those look phenomenal.

    Peppers on the move 2020

I should be in zone 8a. That means I will definitely have freezing temperatures. I have some lights I’ll be able to use to hopefully keep them going in the winter but I will need to have seriously thinned the herd by then. I’m hoping to at least get some fruits set before it freezes so I can...

    Peppers on the move 2020

I’m currently growing outside. The “on the move” part of the equation is that I am currently in Mexico. Should have a larger growing season and be able to overwinter the select few out of the bunch I like.

    Peppers on the move 2020

Well as most people's peppers are starting to get into high gear, I am finally able to start my season.    Like so many others, my pre-season seed purchases were a bit aggressive but I still managed a sizable planting:   July 2020 Planting 5 x Aji Amarillo 5 x Aji Cachucha Purple Splotched 5 x...

Some basics on how I hybridize without bees and a few F1 and F1BC1

Exactly what I was hoping someone had done! Amazing choice on the backing track as well haha. Thanks to both PollenNut and Pepper-Guru for that! I now have a few more channels to follow.

Some basics on how I hybridize without bees and a few F1 and F1BC1

As a resource for those who are growing out the seed you have passed out, would you be willing to do a video of your flower selection and hybridizing process? While it might be a bit of a rehash for more experienced growers, it might also help reinforce some of the fundamentals, as well as help...

I don’t want to second guess you here but that looks like a lot of bleach. Should that be 1 parts bleach to 5 parts water?
