free F1BC1 Free seed being offered

Sent a PM a little while ago. I would be willing to help out with a few crosses as well as long as you don't mind my season starting late. Also if you have any additional data you want tracked let me know and I'm happy to do so. Same with photos etc. just lay it out.    I'd be willing to send a...

    Peppers on the move 2020

Unfortunately for me, the start of my pepper season will have to wait until August due to a move. On the plus side, I will be able to get two growing seasons for the next two years. In the mean time, I am getting in my stock and keeping it organized. I am going to change my label tag this...

Different pepper names?? Different variant?? Same pepper??

I feel like one could argue that someone's desired morphology of a specific plant/pepper (specifically not the breeder's intention) and the likelihood of offspring expressing that specific morphology are the bare minimum someone needs to at least start the process of tracking this kind of data...

Different pepper names?? Different variant?? Same pepper??

Temporary spreadsheet log for DB input   This is a simple log of seed I have received this year. Each seed lot gets its own ID. Once each pepper grows out, it will be given its own PlantID number. So now that plant has a SeedLotID associated with it and an individual PlantID to log morphological...

Different pepper names?? Different variant?? Same pepper??

I would have to agree with what Ruid and PollenNut both said but I don't think the vendors or the community are able to answer those questions right now. If you were to try to limit yourself to someone who can answer all those questions, you would never be able to find seed.   I think instead we...

    wanted ISO: Mystery Wine Pepper

Thanks for checking Chewi; I really appreciate it. I'll give it some time yet and see where things go.

    F*cking fungus gnats

We used a soil topdressing of fine sand mixed with diatomaceous earth applied about 1/4" (6-7mm) deep along with yellow sticky cards. It didn't get rid of them but it cut them way way down.

    wanted ISO: Mystery Wine Pepper

Thanks, I did try contacting him like I said but I can only pester the poor guy but so much. Figured I'd cast the net and hit the search on a couple fronts.   That having been said, I do now see that I could have added onto that older thread.  Old habits are hard to break - I'll get better...

    wanted ISO: Mystery Wine Pepper

Howdy all,   I've really been trying to track down a pepper once grown by Chris Joyner that he called the Mystery Wine Pepper. I've tried sending out a few messages to see if I could track him down but I haven't had any success as of yet. Having followed the history of this pepper a bit, it...

Different pepper names?? Different variant?? Same pepper??

Sorry for the 20 questions but this is something that is pervasive in a lot of hobbyist circles from carnivorous plants to poison dart frogs. In the carnivorous plant circles, we have seen the race for new hybrids in Nepenthes eclipse the continuation of pure species, effectively throttling any...

Different pepper names?? Different variant?? Same pepper??

For some reason I can't seem to get my post to actually hit the page...    PepperGuru "Anyone that's been around long enough has seen the fly by night vendors and even bigger ones run wild with what they sell and claim to sell. Most of the responsibility lies with the vendors, but it doesn't...

Heard good things, thought I’d stop in.

I can only control what information I generate. Currently I'm just logging the variety, where I got it from, a personal invoice ID (linked to the actual invoice if I purchased the seed), the date it was purchased, and any other info I can get from the supplier. From there, seeds get pulled from...

Great info there. I'll be digging through that in more detail for sure.   I'm also going to link a few other threads that have begun to touch on some of these topics as well.   http://thehotpepper.com/topic/64070-different-pepper-names-different-variant-same-pepper/  ...

I appreciate the input. Seems like each forum has its own set of common protocol. I wasn't sure how everyone felt about resurrecting super old threads. Don't need to step on toes my first week here.   That having been said, I really do appreciate all the guidance. Lots of great people here.

Outstanding. I just wanted to make sure there weren't any regular issues with customs. Thanks!

breeding Discussion: Breeding Program Best Practices

This was something I hadn't really stopped to think about. I guess I keep going back to the old Pink Tiger cross how the original phenotype that everyone loved hasn't really been repeatable all that much. Or the White Hot Lime as another example where the strong lime flavor didn't really...

Curious if anyone in the US has ordered from THSC recently and was willing to talk about their experience. Didn't want to make a new topic for no good reason.
