misc Give a shout-out to the most productive variety you've grown...

"Peito de Moca", a very small plant but hundreds and hundreds of pods. Tasty, and a nice middle heat. Ideal for "snacking".

chinense SAFI RED , HABANERO CARIBBEAN RED , RED SAVINA , WHOS THE BEST ?

Tested only the "Safi".  It is sweet and nicely fruity, but i missed the "habanero taste". That taste was too mild in my opinion.   I can recommend "West Indies Red". The best red Habanero i tasted to far (i tried 10 different varieties). Sweet, fruity and a lot of good Habanero Flavor.

    Hungarian Paprika Pepper Suggestions?

The heat is very different. One Pod is hot, the next mild. Mine last year had quite some heat, if you want a really mild powder you can cut out the placenta before drying the peppers.

    seeds Seeds Viable after freezing?

It depedens very much on how dry the seeds are when you freeze them.   Really dry seeds will have a good germination ratio. No very well dried seeds will be damaged.   They water in a seed is stretching the cells while freezing and is breaking them.

    Hungarian Paprika Pepper Suggestions?

Have one more "insider" for you:   "Pimientos de Padron" is very prolific and very tasty grilled. What the most people dont know is, that ripe "Padrons" make a wonderfull and sweet powder.   This pepper gives you everything: good yield, nice fresh peppers and good powder too.

    Hungarian Paprika Pepper Suggestions?

I only tried "Leutschauer Paprika".   I wouldnt recommend it for "eating fresh", because it has a hard skin and not very much sugar in it.    But It makes a good and intense relatively mild powder.

    Let's talk about flavor

Yellow 7 Pod, Fatalii, Lemon Drop, Cumari do Para for Citrus flavor.   Fruity Flavor: Roccoto Canario, Datil, Scotch Bonnet MOA, Bishops Crown.     Im looking for sweetness and fruityness in peppers. I also like nutty taste and " floralness". I hate biterness and soapy taste.

chinense Scotch Bonnet - A confused pepper.

The "Jamaican Mushroom" is exactly the pepper i mentioned. They sell it as a "Scotch Bonnet", but it is an "Anuum" and its taste is way beyond the taste of a scotch bonnet. I always get angry when they sell it as a "Scotch Bonnet".   They easiest way to identify that it is no "Chinense" is the...

chinense The best tasting non-hot C.chinense ever - The Aji jobito

I must say mine was very good in my opinion. I compared it to the similar looking "Aji Dulce Amarillo", and it was much more intense.   Much of Chinense Flavor with sweetness and a mild but noticeable heat (i would say 2/10, definetely not without heat).   I noticed that the flavor depends very...

chinense Scotch Bonnet - A confused pepper.

Some of the big chili pepper sellers here (mainly from holland) use the shape of the "Scotch bonnet" in a very bad way.   All peppers they sell as scotch bonnets have a perfect shape, but they in fact are "jamaican mushroom", an awful tasting "anuum".   If you want real scotch bonnets here, you...

    annuum New Jalapeño varieties

I will give give my "Jalapeno M" from last year a new try next year.   They have a really nice flavor and very good heat. I was just not too happy with the yield ( about 20-25 peppers on my only plant), but maybe i started too late   Also tought about the "lemon" and" pumpkin spic"e, but i think...

    favorite You Favorite Red "Habanero"

The Antillais is very good, but i liked the "Westindian" a bit more.  Was the "Congo" also sweet and had a nice "habanero-taste"? There is a "red mayan" and a "mayan red", confusingly they are different peppers.     I have seeds for the more rare  "Mayan type", a more roundish pepper.

I had a very good hab last year, possibly a "congo". The seeds were labled with "congo black", but it was a red hab. The only thing irritated me, was that the fruits had a small to medium size and i always tought "congos" are big peppers?

    Chunpepe seed source?

Nr. 4:       The most fruity, sweet and intense smell of all plants so far. A bit like "gummi-bears".   Very sweet and fruity taste, and very hot. No bitterness.   The fruit shown is a small one, the most of them are a bit more "roundish" and a little bit bigger.

    Chunpepe seed source?

No problem, i want to get small pods, so i probably grow "nr. 3" next year.   If someone wants to stabilize any of these varieties, just pm me.

    Chunpepe seed source?

I have ripe fruits on 3 of 5 plants:   Plant 1:     The biggest Fruits. The most fruity and sweet smell. Very sweet with an "Superhot Aroma", maybe "Bhut". "The-non Placenta Part" is relatively mild, the Placenta "Superhot".     Plant 2:       Different Fruit Size on this plant. Very sweet...
