    Carolina Reaper (HP22B) Community Grow

Very nice healthy looking plants.  I have yet to get a pepper plant to grow that large.     It will be interesting to see if you can isolate the Choc Reaper and get it to come out the same next year.  It is fun to see what additional shapes and colors this pepper will produce.   At least the...

soil Looking for opinions on landscape fabric to solarize soil..

I know nothing about being able to heat the soil to kill bugs, but I do use a weed fabric in my garden to help prevent weeds and as a side benefit, to heat up the dirt early in the season.   There is a downside to using fabric, and that is if you have slugs, snail, etc, they love to live and...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Turbo Still going, but I am getting ready to pull them soon.  I only had a few branches break, all on my Chocolate Habs.  They must be brittle, as I have had a few break on those plants.  Several plants did fall over from the soil being so wet, but no breaks.   I did notice that the ripe peppers...

    Carolina Reaper (HP22B) Community Grow

BobR,   Wow those 2 year old plants sound very large.  Would hate to watch them die off!.   I grew some reapers seeds from Pepper Joe last year as well and had 3 different shapes.  One was the normal reaper shape, one was like the reaper shape, but smoother and the other was similar to your...

Turbo's Slog (Hot Sauce Log with a silent H)

Turbo, Sorry for the slow reply.  I have been kind of missing from this forum the past week or so.  The plants are handling the rain OK.  The only damage has been to the Chocolate Habs, have had a few loaded branches break off, but since the season is winding down, That is OK.  I have made a few...

    MoA Jamaican scotch bonnets....

Jamison Thanks for sharing the pictures from Steve.  He sent me a bunch of the seeds almost a couple of years ago which I spread put to a lot of the folks up here in the Seattle area as well as a few folks overseas.  He sure is getting nice shaped pods.

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Nice shot of the garden, I see the Comfrey getting ready to help everything grow next year!   Glads you avoided a unpleasant situation with the Ring-tailed cat.  Weird critter, kind of a hybrid like a lot of our pepper varieties?   Stay safe, as I hear the rabies shots are no fun.  We are lucky...

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Scott Are you worried about them spreading to parts of your garden that you do not want them?  I ask, because of what I hear about the long roots and trouble with moving them in the future.  Several years back I planted Horse Radish in my garden.  Due to the hard rocky soil around here, they did...

    PIC 1's...Pepper Graphic...2014

Wow,  These pictures and volume of peppers leave me floored   Great pictures of a excellent grow and the color of your harvest is incredible.  As much as I like peppers, the quantities your garden is pumping out would really stump me with what to do with all that bounty.  (what a problem to...

does anyone have pics of plants from seeds you got from me??

Joe,   I have a couple of pictures of Chocolate Hand Grenades that I grew this year.  I got the seeds through a seed train, but I think you are the creator of these.   Nice firm peppers!

The Pacific Northwest GLOG 2014...CLOSED FOR THE 2014 SEASON

Thanks for sharing this.  I have made several ferments so far, but the use of Pro-biotics is a new one to me.  Might be a whole lot easier than collecting the liquid from yogurt which is the way I have been doing it.   I like your use of Star-san as I have had a couple of batches get Kahm yeast...

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Thanks for the info on the Comfrey.  I might have to cut some of the older leaves and save them for a ferment for other plants this year.  My compost pile is getting so large, it might need a lot more than I can grow from the Comfrey anytime soon.   We will have to compare notes about how much...

Trent's 2014 Grow Log - COLD COLD COLD

Some very good observations that I am going to consider myself next year.  This can consume a lot of time that I could be spending on other hobbies.  I like your observation about leaving the pods on the plants till there is a bunch.  I had not thought of that, as it sure would save some time...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Paul,   Thanks, coming from you that means a lot.  I have followed your glog and you have a pretty impressive green thumb! My favorite suppers have to be the 7 pot Yellow BS as well as the Bhuts/Naga.  This year I focused a lot on Chocolate and Yellow.  Not sure why, just something different. ...

HillBilly Jeff's 2014 Adventure - Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Interesting shape.  Always fun to see how these "not" peppers come out.  I have a Bhut that was suppose to be a Yellow bhut, but it is producing the best looking red bhuts out of all my plants, so it is a winner in my mind.  Same with my Black Naga, nothing but red, but great shape and flavor.  ...

    MoA Jamaican scotch bonnets....

At the end of my season.  Lots of pods, but not a single Grade A shape in the bunch.  But what a wonderful smell and flavor.  Will plant these again next year.   Got plenty saved in the freezer so am stocked for the year!
