More cooking experiments and at least a couple repeats of my latest. It proved to be very popular - peeps be telling me I should open a bakery. An interesting thought.

You and me, both! But when I mention putting either into a savory dish, you'd be amazed at how many people give me a look and say they can't imagine putting those into such a dish. I've even gotten similar here, on this site!

Cinnamon. Cacao. Things we often associate as sweet, though they are not sweet in and of themselves. Going to do some experimenting to see if some unexpected things work well sweet. Should be interesting!

I was more thinking microspikes than full crampons, since those are often helpful on surfaces that are a bit loose. But it sounds like you didn't need even those. Regardless, gorgeous place there!

Very cool. Awesome pics. Looks like a lot of hard hiking and climbing, but rewarding in the end. What is the red splattered on the rock?

Hi Ann! Yeast bread. I'm experimenting with "what if?" As in "What if I made bread with coffee in it?" or "What if I substitute cake flour for part of the A/P?" or "What if I toast the sugar before adding it in?" So now I've made several loaves and have been force-feeding (ha!) them to folks I...

LOL Slug! Part 2 - The sauce was too liquidy at one point, so the excess was strained off. My son wanted to save it and use it for something else. Ok - I used it today as the cooking liquid for some pork shoulder in the slow cooker. Now it was his turn with the look - "what is THAT?" Had to...

My son made a sauce, basically pureed kale, leek, cilantro, lime juice, soy sauce. Cooked it down, added spices, pinto beans, black beans, and tofu. There's just no getting around that it looks like someone had Montezuma's Revenge in a bowl.

Cool new toys, sic.   My track coach is starting to send the pics he took during the meet a couple weeks ago. This was from his analysis of my form during the 100m dash. More will be arriving over the weekend.     At least for this one he said my form was "technically very good." I'll take it!
