    Raccoon in kitchen

Any critter where food is prepared is a bad thing.  And yet, millions of people let cats free range their home.  Thinking cleaning with a disinfectant is fine. If you are having an inspection for a commercial purpose, I would double extra check where ever food is stored.

seeds Orange Cherry Bomb - do they ever germinate?

Naga Viper is one of mine.  Either it wont grow or it doesnt grow / pod right.  I got some to come up this year, we will see if they grow right.  So I know your pain brother, I know your pain.  It its like each pepper has its own deity and some just dont like us.

hydroponic Hydroponics and Compost Tea ???

I generally do clones in potting soil, but the bottom of the pots sits in a tray of water with an aquarium bubbler and heater.  Works great.  Got me to wondering, if I switched the potting soil for a non soil medium and started using compost tea instead of water, would that be considered...

Is Hydro Faster to fruit? How much?

Just from reading cause I am no hydro expert at all.  In hyroponic systems, the water is either airaited or is drained and refilled so the air gets to the roots.  In the ground or even in containers, there is no airation of the water.  Then many different things can gang up on your peppers and...

Is Hydro Faster to fruit? How much?

Have found that you might not get the absolute best yields organic and in the ground, it is the most forgiving if you have plenty of organic material in your soil.  On the other hand, it seems like it takes more time to fix a problem if you grow that way.  From friends who grow indoor with...

Is Hydro Faster to fruit? How much?

That is about what I read for another crop.  But that crop is daylight sensitive.  Are you sure it is the same for peppers?  Part of this is trying to figure out what puts them into flowering / fruiting mode.  If it is size of plant, I can see hydro speeding it up cause it speeds up growth. ...

The hottest pepper thing as a gateway?

Ghaleon, i used to feel the same way about habs because of what I'd had from the grocery store.  Now I love them.  Not so much the boring smooth yellow ones, but even those are much better than the grocery store.  Have you grown your own yet?  Might be like finding an old girlfriend on facebook...

    Wet weather

We use kind of a Hügelkultur system of raised rows.  In part because we started with a lot of clay, but also because we get tons of wet, then tons of dry.  Raised rows and sloped property help prevent puddling and keep the roots out of the soak.  The Hügelkultur system puts lots of decaying...

The hottest pepper thing as a gateway?

Does it seem like the hottest pepper thing gets old at a point?  It is a cool novelty and all.  But it just seems like it wouln't hold a persons attention for long.  I do love heat, but the hotter a pepper is the less you can use in food and remain comfortable.  Less pepper generally means less...

sun Plants in full sun throughout the day

I think that last question is going to be a regional one.  In Kentucky, I've only had some minor problems with things like Star of Turkey.  Most of that is burnt pods during July.  But I know folk in Florida who say they absolutely need shade cloth.  That said, my seed stock plants get shaded...

    "Thai Chile" identification

I'll bet if you grow the seeds out and post photos, folk could give you a much better idea based on the plant and ripe pods.  Problem with trying to identify Thai peppers is that the term is used for so many different peppers.  Even without photos, if I were to place a bet it would be Birdseye...
