seed-train WILD THING (seed train now boarding)

The train has arrived safely.  I've only had time to peek in the bag, but it looks to be quite an impressive collection of seeds!  I'll work my way through it this weekend and have it back on the tracks on Monday.

What is a really tasty "hot red cherry" pepper to grow

Hmm. Didn't realize there were both versions. My Trinidad cherries were Chinense.

What tomatoes are you growing? 2015

Brandywine, white beauty, orange icicle, sun gold cherry, black krim (maybe), san marzano and an extra early hybrid (can't remember the name).  Nothing out of the box, but I love them all.

What is a really tasty "hot red cherry" pepper to grow

I grew the trini cherry last year, and while it's super-productive and a tasty pepper, I didn't find it resembled the classic cherry pepper much at all.  Pods are quite small with a thin flesh.  They'd be difficult to stuff, if that's how you'd want to use them.  The cherry pepper I usually grow...

    Fatalii...Anybody NOT a fan?

I don't care for fresh fataliis either.  I do grow one plant, though.  I dry and powder the pods and use them in a honey/ginger tea I like to drink in the winter.

    Made some Verde!!

I made some salsa verde this year for the first time as well and really enjoyed it.  Have lots of tomatillos in the freezer and hope to make a batch of verde to can soon.   I grew both purple and green tomatillos this year and found the tart, tangy flavor of the green ones more appealing than...

    Starting a Permaculture Garden

After doing some reading, I'm feeling compelled to convert my garden plot to a permaculture garden.   Anyone else growing using permiculture techniques?  What have you found successful with peppers both in terms of growing partners and soil maintenance?

    hybrid Bode Roxa cross

Hey, Joe.  Actually Mr. Weaver had some Bode growning.  Handful of plants.  His Bode pods were not very tasty at all.  Seedy.  Very little flavor at all.  There was one interesting little plant in the Bodes that had brown pods.  Those were more interesting.  Better flavor, less seedy, and some...

Familiar Pod Shape - Not What You Think It Is!

Here's an F2 pod:         It's not an SB7J!   The mother was a Trinidad Scorpion.  I don't know what papa was.  Flavor is quite a bit different than SB7J, as you might imagine.  A good amount of scorpion flavor with some sweetness and a different burn than SB7J.  Not as hot as SB7J either.   I...

    Anyone Growing Out UBSC?

Just curious.  I've got 2 plants.  One is putting out the expected gnarly red pods, but the other is putting out brown pods.  Anyone else getting any variation?

I do nearly this same sauce.  It's so simple, yet one of my favorites.

7 Pot Primo and Moruga infused vodka

Did a simple scotch bonnet vodka that was 'meh' until the last draw from the bottle that nearly made me toss my cookies. And I was munching the bonnets whole in the garden but in the vodka, it was way more intense. Pretty much over the spicy vodka thing now!

    The Original SB7J

I've got 2 f5 plants from seed from San Patricio as well as an F4 plant from off-pheno seeds from Vince (coheed196) and all are growing correct pheno pods that are tasty and quite hot indeed - a painful heat! Cool variety and one I'll continue to grow.
