For sure hit up an organic style grocery store like Whole Foods or Sprouts. They will sell it in bulk for wayyyyy cheaper than you could buy at a nursery.

Tyler, you can grow Tillandisa from seed but they are sloooooooooow. Germination is easy and you can sew the seeds on a screen or a lufa. They are easier to just purchase as they aren't very expensive. I will send you a PM to a good source. The tiger striped plant is a Cryptanthus 'Cold...

That's a blooming Tillandsia ionantha 'Ron'. They are really beautiful when in bloom and not the typical variety Tillandsia.

Hydrofarm makes a great one for cheap that I use. I've used it from orchids to dyckia. Very nice heat mat.
