HillBilly Jeff's 2014 Adventure - Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

If you find a good Manzano sauce recipe, please be sure to post it.  I have most of mine from this summer saved and would love to make a good sauce out of them.  Been thinking about fermenting them first, but have not done it yet.   What was that white pepper you showed on post #2049.  I would...

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

LOL,    I had to go back top the top to see if the owner of this GLOG was located in the southern Hemisphere.  Flowering plants this time of the year?  Not something I am used to in October outdoors.   Nice pictures Scott, how do you plan on using the Comfrey?  I have some as well, but did not...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

As much as I try to keep everything organized, I still get a few surprises.  On the bright side, at least the mislabeled plants are producing something worthwhile.  I have been burning myself real good the past 3 or 4 days processing these and pulling seeds, but now that I think I have most of...

    Meatfreak 2014 Glog

Those Scotch Brains sure are a great looking pepper.  Interesting to see that they have kept the Bonnet shape so well.  Nice harvest and great colors

Loved the pool shot.  What a nice looking color wheel.   Processing that many would be a long effort.  Sorry to hear about the splash in the eye.  I know that must have hurt.

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Scott, Grandkids are great because I can wind them up, spoil them and then send them home with their parents!   Nothing like getting to have revenge on my daughter!   LOL, enjoy, cause your right they grow up way to fast.  And they sure learn how to get what they want from the Grandparents!

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Turbo, Will do.  I know I have seen some identification pictures, I just need to take the time and work through it.   I will keep you posted.   Thanks for the compliments.  Sometimes things work out for me, and I end up wondering just what was it that I did right.  Well, in this case, I will...

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

Happy belated Birthday wishes.  Still laughing about the present you got from the granddaughter.  I see a future organic Pepperhead in the one!   That is the type of present that you are not likely to forget.   You made my day!

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Well,  I finally got the peppers picked and seeds pulled from the ones I still needed.  That sure adds a lot of time to the process time   Here are some shots of the pull this time.  Looks to be the largest I have got this year.  plenty more unripe pods but we shall see how long the plants hand...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Some days, I think I need to un-retire, just so I can take a break from all the work I am doing around the place!  Guess it is making up for all the times I procrastinated on doing some maintenance.  But it does feel good to get things taken care of.  Have a long-low barn that has some broken...

    Devv's 2014- Stick a fork in me, I'm done....

By the way Devv.  I spent all my free time the past 3 days reading the last 25 pages of your glog!  Wow  What a read.  I sure like your set-up but I can see all the hard work you and LB have put into it.   Sure is different from here with the timing of your harvests and when you get ripe fruits...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

Yes, I sure do have more than I know what to do with at this time.   Plus a lot of these are hotter than I can enjoy on a regular basis, so the plan for next year (best wishes) is to cut back the numbers and to grow a few more of the milder and easier to eat peppers.  I still enjoy some of the...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

I got those from Judy at Pepperlover last year.  I don't see them on her list this year though.  Let me know, and if they ripen up in time, I will send you some seeds. Got another pull the other day as well as made more room in the freezer by making more purees from last years pods.     Got...

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

LOL   Agreed about the beer, I do not seem to lose it, but then it may be that I don't let go of it!   I have the same problem with the reading glasses.  Never needed them before and then all of a sudden I need then for so many things.  So glad that COSTCO sells them in packages of 3, so I can...

HillBilly Jeff's 2014 Adventure - Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

Interesting, I don't think I have ever harvested one, but they sure look familiar, so will have to keep my eyes open the next time I am out gathering.    Thanks

    tutorial The Pest Guide

Well, this does make my little issues with bugs and slugs feel a bit minor.   Well, I wish you luck this year as it sure seems like your pests are a whole dimension bigger than what we need to worry about up here.   Does make me laugh when I think about this!

    BPWilly's 2014 grow

LOL   Sometimes I am not sure I have to even enter a new room.  I don't know how many times I have been in the garage and used a tool, and 2 minutes later I can not find that tool for the life of me.  It is like it just up and walked off.  Then I will find it a day later still inside the garage...
