Plants from what I can see look OK. There is probably many things you can do to improve on them but I wont get too far into it till I know more about your grow and what you already are and are not doing. I would however suggest giving them more foot room for starts.

Not all peppers are susceptible to indiscriminent cross pollonation. Pubescence will only cross with othern pubs. And there are some species that are even more discriminant.

Not really and by no means. there is no one best way for everyone. What I am doing now has turned my grow around. And I am sure some of my methods on getting there would raise some eyebrows.

  I didn't say feed more fertilizers. I stated they looked to be starving. That just means it don't look like they are using what you are giving. More nuts could have even worse consiquences then you have now.

I think you are starving them. I feed and/or foliar feed 3 to 4 times a week. And dose with compost tea two to three times a month.

You really cannot tell at this point. early pods sometimes do not express the true reapers shape that later pods will.

Pic is of very poor quality. I cannot detect more thasn one bud per node, therefore I am leaning annuum.

Generally when you find 1 aphid you will find a cluster of them together(which I do not see in the pic). Many aphids, once they are parasitized, will wander off from the group which appears to be what I see in the pic.  For close up pics, try zooming in from a longer distance when using a cell...

It dont look like any kind of infestation at this point. they do look like aphids but they appear to be mummitized by some variety of aphidious wasp. I would leave them alone in that case as it is the best type of natural protection against aphids.

And, all the nutrients in the world are no good if they are not readily available to the plant and/or the plant cannot uptake them.  

Care to explain further? I grew SM and DM last year SM was a pussy cat compared to the DM. I included CS this year for a total of 3.
