We have them in a big coop 24'x8' for 4 chickens, but only let them out under close supervision. Too many hawks. They often perch right above the coop, but I fortified it pretty well.
Yeah, my daughter is nuts about them.
Thanks.
We decided to get 4 chickens. Not exactly sure why. I don't eat eggs but wife & daughter do. I thought their poop would make a more significant manure than it has. It's been fun having them around though. Got them in March when they were about 5 weeks old. This is from a few weeks ago when they...
A few photos of the early birds.
The Peach Lightning Hab pods I mentioned above. I'm hopeful the later ones will be normal sized.
NeBru 7 Pot. Thanks to Trident for seeds.
Black Cherry Tomatoes picked a day or two early but still good.
These guys destroyed my cabbage & brussels...
Just noticed I had about 4 tiny ripe pods on something I planted as Peach Lightning Hab. Really small pods I'd call more orange than peach. About the size of a kidney bean. I ate one in the garden & it provided some nice heat for the first chinense of the year.
Thanks. It's been slow going. Pics & update soon. I have all 220 pepper plants in the ground but not much to see. I did eat my first of the year this week- peach sugar rush. Thanks again.
I hope so. It's nice & fuzzy so far.
I have no shortage of plants or varieties. I shouldn't complain. It'll be good. I've got the Arkansas Peach going strong. ...well semi-strong. 4-6" tall.
About 2/3 of the peppers & some other junk. I was able to find what would've been about $600 of pavers for free. Salvaged. Business put them down, didn't like them & took them out a few months later.
Lighting up the backyard. Only have about 1/4 of the lights outside. Rest are still with plants...
I've been absent from THP for a couple of months aside from some lurking. It's amazing how bummed out aphids will make a person. I came back from a 4 day trip out of town & they were somehow still wading in the water I gave them when I left (mystery as to why- hasn't happened since), the dirt...
Charlotte, NC
Planning on April 10 for the first 100 or so & the rest April 17. Total of about 200. I need to count.
Last frost date is usually about April 1. I spot a low of 32 on Saturday but after that, smooth sailing.
Bad Brains
Yellow Brain Strain
BOC
White 7 Pot
Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion
...I'm sure there will be others this year that Crack in there. Looking forward to it.
I've got 5 trays going now. Most of the plants in 2 of the trays (the oldest plants) look like this. Yellow & losing leaves. Bummed. I don't think I've been watering them too much. I've watered about twice a week and have waited until they get a little wilty lately. I haven't given them any...
