    Pepper ignorance

One year I grabbed an SB7J fresh out of the garden and thought it was a scotch bonnet. As I was eating it I commented to my friend how much capsaicin oil it had in it, lol. The heat didn't kick in until I finished the pepper. I honestly didn't mind the intense burn, but I wasn't expecting it...

    chinense Bih Jolokia

Cool, I really liked her bih jolokias. :)

    hybrid * * Show off your Crosses & Off pheno's of 2015 * *

The 7JPN x Morugas are doing great in heat, taste, and aesthetics. I made a sauce out of these white and purple ones and it came out pink! They need to be cooked first because of the texture. Hopefully I will find the large amount of seeds I saved. I seemed to have misplaced them atm.

Variety you are most excited about for 2016

A 7JPN x TS Moruga F2 I selected last year. Great heat, shape, red/purple pods, and great flavor.

    chinense Bih Jolokia

The bih jolokia I grew was fast. It also set pods quick and was a very heavy producer. I originally bought them from Judy.

    This thing is so hot

It could be a brain strain (pretty much look like TS Morugas to me). Looks like a 7 pot to me.

Curious if this looks like what it's suppose to be.

Looks a bit like a bih jolokia or similar naga.

A Case Against Superhots - Or "Why I'm Changing My Garden for Next Year"

You should try chunpepe (PI 406847).   Nigel's review: Grin: http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/acc/display.pl?1306523

seed-train WILD THING (seed train now boarding)

Hey cap. I'd say it was not bad on the first round. I was a bit disappointed only because I was hoping for more wilds. This isn't anything a single person can fix unless they have tons of wilds, lol. I hope to contribute wilds and cool crosses next run!

A Case Against Superhots - Or "Why I'm Changing My Garden for Next Year"

I used to grow 95% or so superhots. This year I'm only doing around 85%, lol. I love red c. chinese peppers the most. I also love c. frutescens. Oddly, I don't care much about c. baccatum. They are not bad but just don't do it for me.

annuum Most prolific of the Jalapenos?

Perhaps his seeds are bad quality (no offense). They produce like crazy for me as well. The jalapenos are small with the right shape but hotter than a lot of other varieties.

chinense Trinidad Moruga Scorpion does not exist?

Mine look nothing like brain strains. They have no bumps, lol.   Here is a few pics (most of the tails are blunted and stubby and I don't have a good pic of them):

favorite Wild Varieties-What is your favorite

I think they taste really good and have some heat.     It's really tough to say what my favorite is! I think I'll go with capsicum flexuosum. So far they've been growing very strong and one is starting to bud.

New Pepper, New Name, and Trademark

I don't see a reason to waste money on a trademark.

    Pompous or Common Sense?

The full name is Jay's ghost scorpion, which I don't see a problem with. I'm starting to think they are changing the name around the TS Butch T. for marketing.

    Moruga Blend ???

Yeah. They are from the same place and same species at least, lol. Ed sells them here: http://store.puckerbuttpeppercompany.com/products/cp-035-moruga-red

    Moruga Blend ???

There is a non-superhot that's called Trinidad Moruga.
  19. Dulac

    Moruga Blend ???

Yeah, it's not good to not include scorpion when referring to Trinidad scorpion Moruga. It sounds like they mean Trinidad scorpion Moruga when saying "Moruga blend" or "Trinidad Moruga blend," which is very careless.

    Moruga Blend ???

I'm going to stop using that 'b' in my abbreviation. I wasn't sure if it was more proper or not to use blend, but CPI doesn't use it. I also confused people newer to the chilli scene early this year. They thought it stood for brown since we have TS Moruga browns now.     Edit:   Here is some...
