I'll try a pizza stone or pizza steel in a while. I've seen some good ones. One problem I had on my first pizza of the week was that my first pizza stuck to my pizza peel and folded over, even after I floured it. I was trying to heat the pizza plate up first and got that result instead. I...

temps are always going to be an issue with me. Too long on heat and I release the oil from the fat too much. Too little and no browning. Trying to find a medium is tricky. Next time I might pull out my grill. Even with that probably not much improvement. I went with the cheese I had on hand...

Bay leaf. dont mind it.   Lavendar. don't use it often, but its not bad in lemonade.   Cilantro... not a fan. To me it tastes like soap. I leave it out of most recipes.    Black pepper. don't mind it. sorry geeme. lol.     I did take some photos...   here was the deli meat section of Wal-Mart...

On that note, the next time I go to the store I'm going to have to look for some more yeast. I've heard its getting pretty hard if not impossible to find. But I had some on hand, so I haven't really needed to go to the store for it-- plus I've been buying 3-4 standard sandwich loaves for the...

Sounds like what I did with my first batch of hamburger buns. I actually remembered the salt, but I boiled some water and didnt let the water cool enough....and killed my YEAST! lol.   I had to make the whole batch again. The batch you all saw was my second attempt. hehe.

Another project of mine I finally got around to making. Jeweled Rice (Javaher Polow) with Beef Kabobs.   The layers are: lemon zest sugar syrup and slivered almonds; sauteed and sugared rehydrated apricot, cranberries, raisins, and black cardamom; and steeped turmeric soaked rice; all over...

I once did use cast iron in my kitchen...and I did set the smoke alarm off. That was rather difficult trying to explain to my alarm company..haha. Now I cook such things outside on my grill. Maybe I will try the cast iron pan on the grill. I think I just sped the process up too fast that go...

indeed. a friend gave me this meat so I thought I'd try it.                I had to throw the burger back on the grill here after I cut it. I thought the burger was done and it wasn't. I cooked it a little long to ensure it was not still alive.

So there was a blood shortage due to coronavirus. So I went to the bloodbank to give some blood since I can donate the special 2x Red Cells that help cancer patients.   The nurse told me I had to eat red meat and spinach for the next few days.   So I made a beef stew from what ingredients I...

Dragon fruit update:    Much have I learned.   1) the desert cactus starch method of inducing rooting in a dark place does not work for me.  However... 2) The drop method does produce better results. This  is just placing a mature cutting on the ground with the end to be rooted facing east...

I had to do some surgery on a few cacti today. I recently acquired a few cuttings from California and New Orleans, some of which took immediately, some did not. Those that did not I pulled up and examined further. I noticed that the cuttings were starting to rot at the end base, and that there...
