32 gallon Kratky setup - Orange Manzano

I must say, I'm liking your idea alot to use the pvc pipes with zip ties to anchor your peppers. I have a bucket DWC lid almost identical to the one you have. I can easily see myself making that.   As for the Kratky, I was wondering if you provide info on and of the following:   A per gallon...

    My pepper journey

one thing I discovered in my research is how to handle leaves on plants.   This video is interesting:    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVdzqBAVfJk   It shows how to clip off the lower leaves to improve the health of the plants.   I guess they call it lollipop-ing,   I am focusing on mostly...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

Here is my second unit with the grow light active.   I store bought some tomato plants and washed most of the dirt off. I think these plants are going to need staking very soon. The roots are not stable enough to hold the stem. The stems are already putting out flowers in this case, so I decided...

That's good. Shouldn't be any issues then.

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

Oh it was fairly easily actually. And much cheaper too. Frankly, if I had known it was that easy, I might have not bought the Active Aqua unit at all. That being said, Active Aqua has a much better pump and a bigger basket. I feel I could have replicated theirs on some level if I had the right...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

So i decided to make a slight temporary change in my hydro system. I custom built some DWCs using spare parts from Wal mart. I bought some net cups and drilled a hole in the side of a plastic bin. I cut holes in the top with a heavy Xacto knife and sealed the area around the air hose with...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

One interesting coincidence about growing tomatoes indoors in my area is that we have hurricanes. So from may to November (specifically in August-October) we are in danger of losing power for days at a time. I am running dwc, so I need electricity. But I also had a 5500 watt generator, so if...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

I feel I need advice on a couple of problems I am witnessing.     First, I think I jumped too quickly from a 1/4 strength solution all the way to full strength while the plants were not ready to take this load. As a result, my plants seem to be wilting. I may take out two full pitchers of...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

did some transplanting today, since the plants were starting to fall over.   Not quite 100% happy with their root growth at that time, but we'l see.  Currently using two 15W LEDs (I have the whole set of four.) I am experimenting with if the white light will help the plant absorb the blue better...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

Of course if I have insects, I'll have to move the plant outdoors. Speaking of insects though, are your plants indoors during the flowering stages?  If so, how do you pollinate your flowers?  A cue tip?        Cool thanks. And thanks for telling me not to use coir. I am not really familiar...

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

meaning..?   I assume you mean temp, controlled environment ect. If so, the answer is not really. But we don't normally have bugs flying around inside the house. And the A/C temp is about 75-80.    I may need to get a small dollar store fan with a clip to add some air circulation.

Sorry, I meant in terms of wattage. I assume they are LEDs

    My hydroponic Tomatoes ect.

My problem in general is twofold. First, I live in South Florida, where our climate is warm year round. So, on the surface, there really is not much of a need for hydroponics like there is up north. But on the other hand, there is a large problem with bugs in my area destroying all manner of...
