Slightly off topic, but I thought a lot of people here would be interested. I harvested my first miracle fruit today.

Yeah I definitely noticed that the bottom is sweeter. Brazilian starfish sounds great and I'm thinking it'll go on the shortlist.

Wow, those are some amazing pods. That primo/reaper, peach bhut, and apocalypse are scary looking. Then you've got it balanced with those tasty looking bonnets and Congo.

I've honestly been neglecting my plant, doing the bare minimum to keep it alive and not stressing over a couple off looking leaves and babying it like my peppers, but it's exceeded my expectations and started to get ripening fruit

I'd never had a baccatum so when I saw a ripe lemondrop, I already knew it wasn't making it back into the house. I think they'd actually be really good without the seeds placenta. That's where they taste "soapy" to me. The bottom was really sweet with good flavor though.

Considering these are the first baccatums I've ever grown, the fact that a couple have started to ripen is pretty cool.

My plan for next time I make candied jalapeños is to cook the syrup a little longer and make suckers.

I may have misread, but you've never had a chinense? That Suave Orange is a chinense... But that aside those are all great looking varieties

Those last two look like really cool varieties. And even if your Cardensaii isn't growing true, it sounds like you got ahold of some great traits.

No, what you grow it by can only affect what comes from the seeds of *those* pods. Seems like the supermarket seeds were already crossed.
