    Pepper flavor

I gotta say, even though I appreciate the heat, I'm looking forward to the milds I want to grow next year eg NuMex Trick-or-Treat and a couple others. I really enjoy eating pods right off the plant, which isn't so feasible with anything much hotter than a hab. That sounds really interesting and...

harvesting When to harvest? Red habaneros

I had a pretty small reaper fall off of my plant green and it's starred to change color a couple days later. I'm almost positive it wasn't close to its final size. I wouldn't count on it, but it seems to happen even then occasionally. It was my knowledge that a lot of people who sell pods pick...

favorite Favorite NEW TO YOU variety you grew this year

Considering how late I started, I'll have to go with my 'Fooled You' jalapeƱo. It's the only *new* variety that has really produced anything harvestable. I've had a few green lemondrops, but I *really* thing those are gonna be way better ripe

Bhut Jolokia & Trinidad Scorpion (Moruga) which is which

It'll be a lot easier to be sure once they set pods though

    My pepper plants losing flowers

Technically, a 6 inch twig will produce. I can take a photo when I get home but I left two plants in separate three inch pots and they both have at least one full sized pod. Of course your plants may not want to produce much but they definitely will.

Aji White Fantasy - how do I know when it's ripe

It may be an exception to the rule, but my reapers are ripening faster than my jalapeƱos, and my lemondrops are even slower. Imo, I think it depends on which varieties like your climate/conditions the most.

plant Weird Plant Has Yellowish Petals

If it's localized to a single flower then I wouldn't credit it as anything more than an anomaly until pods form.

ID. is it Carolina reaper? or NOT!

No, they don't always. It definitely looks more like a reaper in the recent picture

    Pepper ID/ explanation

Afaik, a lot of color variants have come to exist due to them randomly popping up from the seed of an original variety. Maybe do a comparison between the new chocolate and a normal red bhut?

Struggles of a new chilli grower: Great progress, annoying problems.

First of all, I'd just suggest that you calm down. The best way to hinder a plant is to care too much and you're doing just that. I grew a Reaper last year and got tons of flowers, but only two pods. This season almost every flower has developed into a pod. I'm assuming yours will be fine and it...

tutorial Growing Hot Peppers Guide + FAQ

Gotta agree with solid7. I picked that advice up from a woman at a farmer's market in Jacksonville with a small forest in her area. Her plants were amazing. Though, something a bit more controversial she did was break up a pod and throw it down every once in a while. I guess that could be a...

chinense NuMex Suave Orange, Trick-or-treat, pink hab, Habanada etc.?

I'm looking at mostly milds for next year so they both sound pretty good.

    Is this the Carolina Reaper?

There's always a chance it's just an off pheno but that looks more moruga to me. The tails form wayyy before they ripen.

    Pepper ID and confirmation

Yeah, the second looks like Bishop's crown or Fantasy, and the third definitely reminds me of aji arnaucho.

What are those pods in the middle? The shape looks oddly familiar.

    Edible nightshades?

So I left a few suckers from my goji in a one gallon pot (the ones I mostly care for are sharing a pot with a pepper) and I noticed a flower and some buds today. I'm also getting ground cherries daily by watering when it wilts and shaking the plant at the end of the day.

    pics Harvest

I didn't take a photo but I let an aji dulce ripen a bit longer this time. A lot more flavorful and a bit sweeter but I'm thinking mine may be a cross since it does have quite a bit of heat.

    Pepper flavor

This is mostly what I get with ghosts or reapers, vs a very fruity flavor from something like a habanero. I definitely agree with that description.
