Nice work. There is no rhyme or reason to some of these wilds when germinating. Flood them with light and that leggy plant will correct itself. One foot on the brake and the other on the accelerator.

    Solanum bicorne

It grew to 30' and after a few severe storms, broke the support and fell. Interestingly enough, it bent in half and did not break. It began growing along the ground before putting out soccer ball sized inflorescences of 100 flowers or so. Never did set berries! It's really difficult to grow some...

wanted Looking for CP-203 Baccatum v. Baccatum

I would not feel slighted. Chris has a lot going on and needs a bit of space from the hobby and seed swapping. I'm sure he will answer eventually but I would imagine later than sooner.

overwintering 2nd attempt at overwintering in extreme Northeast Ohio

    1. You are going to have a slower rate of growth, not dormancy. Pruning can be used to keep plant at a desired size. 2. Plants need light for photosynthesis. 3. 50-60 with ambient light in the basement. 4.As much as you want depending on the $ and effort you want to spend. Even with ambient light...

    organic Organic discussion

I think this is contempt for Americans and their diets? I've been called Thanos by folks at work. Some population control sounds great to me,but maybe something that doesn't cause a slow death and a strain on the insurance and medical fields. But I'm thinking about actual poor people in the...

    organic Organic discussion

There are nearly 8 billion people on this planet. The non-GMO and organic lobbies are not going to feed them. Permaculture and aquaponics aren't either. The hatred for Monsanto -I am one of them-has stained the letters GMO. And your rank and file will just pile on and not do a second of...

    cooking More Mushrooms!!

@CraftyFox Shame you are having troubles finding honey's. I could have easily filled a 55 gallon drum with them. For years I have tried to identify every tree and plant around here. I am pretty thorough and the popular mushrooms popping now are really easy. I can see how someone could get in...

    pubescens Olive Rocoto variant (mustard)

I don't think what Semillas is selling is accurate. This is the problem when selling an unstable product. I'm actually shocked at how many people are selling this after a quick search. Wow! Getting back to previous comments....This is the reason I stopped saving and trading seeds. I couldn't...

    cooking More Mushrooms!!

Can you elaborate? Do you mean because of misidentifying,or Honeys are actually dangerous? I wouldn't eat them if I was starving, but see thousands of them and was under the impression they were choice? I don't know anything about shrooms but find them interesting and may spend a bit of time...

You will not be disappointed. I honestly have not saved a seed. People send me shit and I grow them. I really have no interest in peppers anymore other than basic annuums.

Very happy to see you growing seed from John Fiedler. He was a very close friend of mine and this community.

I'm sure we can all dig up what everybody needs here. I also would suggest Chris Fowler as @talas mentioned. He is a very close friend and sound as a pound. One of the benevolent and honest people in these circles. I'm sure a google search with his name and welsh dragon will bring up his seed shop.

Hoping to get some input or just discussion about self-incompatibility in C.flexuosum or pollen-tube growth issues. There have been many plants grown of this species all over the world and the berry size from plant to plant varies greatly. Even many parthenocarpic fruit. Has anyone experienced...

They can be difficult to germinate (10-100 days)but the same as most others as far as growing and ripening. Very cool leaf color and structure.

chinense Help sorting out the Ají Dulces and CP348

You can start a thread in the Glog section for your upcoming grow. P.S. Even old C.chinense seeds should germinate 10-20 days. If you run into issues I'm sure someone can help you out with seeds. Even C.P. himself is know to frequent this site. I wish I could help you out but I have never...

chinense Help sorting out the Ají Dulces and CP348

Because Puckerbutt is intetested in selling Carolina Reaper seeds. I would assume that 95%+ of their seed sales are Reapers and to non-hobbyists that would be more intetested in a frat prank than the culinary benefits of say a heatless C.chinense. The 6-8 week germination time is a big red...
