Lol, yes, those were my peppers...At one time he was very active here on THP. That's how I know him, in fact...   My Mahala plants are loading up with green pods right now, but as soon as I have some ripe ones I'll send you a few for comparison sake....

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Hey Eric, remind me, are those from my seeds? It really looks like one of the Dreadie pods was cross-pollinated with Bonda Mahala, which were right next to the Dreadie plants last year. Your description of the heat and aroma only strengthens my idea about that....

Since Dropbox deactivated its Public Folder service, the links to all my images on THP for the last 4-5 years are now broken. Please bear with me, my friends, while I search for another way to host photos to THP....   Maybe one day that service will be baked into our beloved forums!!!

    Datil's 2017 - Nagaland, Mexico and beyond

For you, my friend, I will send actual pods of my very best dried red New Mexico Chile, which are far superior to those available in the stores...   Sorry about your C. chinense plants. I agree, they do seem to be fussier about soil, and sunlight, as well. For years I have been toying with the...

    Datil's 2017 - Nagaland, Mexico and beyond

Lol, you and me, Fabrizio!!! I'm wondering if you ever got into New Mexico Chile (Big Jim, 6-4, Sandia, Chimayo, etc.)? There's something about the flavor of dried Red Chile that makes me crave it every day...   Oh, and thanks so much for growing Forbing Naga, and for your nice review...Just...

Thanks Mike! Yes, Matthew and Carla are great people...the kind of folks with whom one feels an instant bond...I don't think it's any coincidence at all that he bears such a strong resemblance to your father...

Wow, thanks for growing them, Jase!!! And thanks for your kind words...I was just thinking this morning, as I carefully extricated the grass runners from the edges of my Scotch Bonnet bed, what a waste of real estate a damn lawn is...   My Mississippi Scorpion bed this morning, in the Dolet...

Thanks Simmy! No, it was nowhere near as hot as Chris' pepper...       Excellent question, Rick! Normally I use about 3 inches, but where the chlorosis is severe I measured 6 inches or more....I'm thinking one should never use more than 3 inches...   I'm real happy with this year's Forbing...

F3 Forbing Naga Plant #5 is the smallest and palest of the lot, but this sumbitch just kicked my ass...It seems plant vigor is not always the best criterion for selecting the seed mother...

    windchicken 2017

This year's garden has been a difficult learning experience...One can definitely use too much RCW (chipped oak branches) as mulch, but the plants are beginning to recover now. The silver lining to that dark cloud has been the forest of volunteer chile plants in my garden, two of which are...

Thanks for growing NagaBrain Jase!       Cool Rick! Thanks for growing Forbing Naga...For an F3 grow, we're not doing so bad. I'm still getting the yellows, too...Last season it was 2 out of 6 plants. This year it's only 1 out of 6 plants, so we're getting closer....

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Holler at me later on in the season...That's when I dry my seeds.   My buddy Tim Krucker made this amazing hot sauce from my Papa Dreadie Scotch Bonnets, plus this badass mug...The flavor is pure Scotch Bonnet, with just enough vinegar and salt to stabilize it. The name Liquid Gold could not...
