    The Aji Teapot - Yellow

This one was sent to me by Jim O`Conner. The seeds were from AjiJoe, who originated the Aji Teapot strain. I reviewed the original Aji Teapot last year (see below) and this Yellow version is new.   This is another pepper with delicious, fresh and citrusy aromas. Although thought to be either a...

The Ma Wiri Wiri from Guyana - Delicious!!!

Many thanks to Jim O`Conner for sending these wonderful pods!   The Ma Wiri Wiri or just Wiri Wiri pepper comes from the country of Guyana and is an undomesticated C.chinense. The small red pods can are usually round, but can be slightly elongated, too.   The aromas of this pepper were...

heat Is there a new Hottest Pepper?

There will always be a "new" hottest pepper. Always.   Smokin` Eds Carolina Reaper has the paperwork, for now. The question is, do we care about paperwork? The answer depends on your point of view. Ed Currie`s Carolina Reaper has a lot of testing behind it, but is it the hottest pepper? From a...

contest Growdown Throwdown 2014 Tallest plant

Mine is doing great, but has only grown abut 18" in the last 3 months. I guess having it in a 3 gallon pot doesn't help!   I`ve probably already had 100 pods or so off the plant, but it is loaded up with many more and is flowering again!

Many thanks to Cappy at Pepper Ridge Farm and also to Mike Christensen!   Contact Cappy via THP. His user name is Pepper Ridge Farm.    Wow, what a sauce?!?!?!? This is a pure Brain Strain mash, fermented for 3 months, then blended with pineapple, carrot, onion, garlic, brown sugar, lime...

    Capsicum "Cardenasii" CGN 20497

No worries, it`s stupidly complicated! I had seeds this year from a real species expert in Italy and they ended up being crosses. It`s a very tough species to keep clean and true. CGN 20497 is claimed to be C.cardenasii,  but the few that have grown it out this year have found that it is a cross...

    Capsicum "Cardenasii" CGN 20497

I believe said leaf is available in Bolivia and Peru at Gas Stations for a few cents a bag! The other thing that helps with altitude is viagra   No, really, it is actually true.    C.cardenasii was first described from plants grown from pods found in a market in La Paz, Bolivia, so...

    Aji Verde From PepperLover.com

Interesting. I have seeds for Aji verde that I got from Peru and the pods do not look like those at all. Let me go and snap some photos and I`ll post them.   I have a book of peppers and their uses, printed in Peru, and they show Aji verde to be like the ones I have.

    Capsicum "Cardenasii" CGN 20497

I agree with you George, going to Bolivia is possibly the only way to get seeds. I am serious about going there next spring, but we`ll have to wait and see whether I can swing the trip or not. I have the GPS co-ordinates for cardenasii collection sites, as well as a few other Bolivian wild...

    Eat it, Mr President!

Capsicum chinense was described botanically in 1776. Coincidence? I think not!!!   http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/proceedings1996/V3-479.html

    Eat it, Mr President!

Very clean, strong C.chinense flavour similar to Cumari do Para and Wild Brazil. Throwing a handful into a pot of anything would be rather good, I think, but the Chicken Pot Pie sounds perfect!   I`ll review one soon.

    Eat it, Mr President!

Yep, definitely BIG TASTE.    Very similar to Wild Brazil. You pop them in your mouth and they pop and release huge amounts of flavor and very respectable heat.

    Eat it, Mr President!

This is without a doubt the smallest C.chinense I`ve ever come across. The plant is covered in pods that are the same size.    CGN 20800. Seeds from Judy at Pepperlover.com

    BrainStrain from Nate6279 destroyed me

Red Brain Strains still kick my ass every time. For whatever reason they just destroy me.   The Chocolate Brain Strain from Judy is by far the hottest thing I`ve ever eaten. Not even close!!!
