    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

OMG!  Perhaps there is a dim ray of hope.  I enlarged the picture and I think you may be right.  Suspect leaves are in the middle.     Is it clear these are a new set of leaves?       Either way, awfully slow progress for something that sprouted on April 26th.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

This is probably going to be one of the last pictures of the plant.  I can't see it developing any more.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

I think just a tiny bit better.  Anything more than looking a drop better I blame on a better focused and more zoomed in picture than yesterday.   I appreciate the encouragement and thoughts though!

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Too much of a pain to have to first transport it back home and then wouldn't want to be responsible to care for it for the next seven months or so.  As much as it will pain me, at some point this Summer, I may make an executive decision to pull the plug.   Except for some unexpected light...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Thanks for the update Paul.   My plant is indeed alive. This morning, I angled it away from the sun and it exhibited signs of phototropism by moving toward the light source. It is however noticeably weak, as a healthy plant would have bent more and would have done so in a shorter period of...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

I have a feeling that I'll be attending a funeral soon, but I gave the plant one more try. I put it in a new pot with fresh potting soil and some nutrients.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Believe it or not, things are getting worse.  Nobody has been at the house since Monday, and after lots and lots of more rain, I showed up to find this:     I obviously have a drainage problem!  I dumped out the water and found the uprooted plant:     I took it inside and put it in a small pot...

    Cal-Mag Question

The plants in the third picture (before the rain) are clearly in need of a drink.  Notice the drooping and thinness.     Keep on posting updates and pictures here, or start a proper  "GLOG."

    Cal-Mag Question

Cal-Mag is light on nitrogen at 2-0-0, so as long as you don't exceed the recommended one teaspoon per gallon, you aren't going to harm anything.  I've used it in past to clear up calcium deficiencies with good results.  Just mix up a one gallon batch and water as you normally would.  If you run...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Thanks for the update.   My plant has been getting lots of sun. Unfortunately it is raining now, and rain is in the forecast five out of the next nine days.   My tomato and cucumber plants are doing fine (growing at their normal pace) in the exact same compost/soil mix, but they all started with...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Some more infinitesimal progress—a third leaf is coming in.   I'm now fairly confident that if I take this inside at the end of the season, keep it under lights until next May and then plant it outside again, I'll get pods by August, 2020.   The storms and conditions aside, I think something is...

First Time Gardener, Mishaps & Exploits

What is that?   I thought it was a worm at first, but then I saw the eyes.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Thanks,   Right now, the biggest enemy is time.   The best case scenario is that my zone has good weather until mid November, which gives the plant plenty of time to recover and produce lots of pods.  It is also possible that a mid to late September storm could kill the plant before it has time...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

I should be able to get at least one more picture before I'll be at the garden next Thursday.   Should I give it a hit of Cal-Mag plus over the weekend, (or maybe some foliar sprays) or just leave it alone and let the composted manure do its delayed magic?

water Self watering system for bucket growing

Ty 4 all the advice, but I won't be needing the system until at least next season.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Ty,   Unfortunately, there is lots of rain in the upcoming forecast.  Next week,  I'll deal with any un-burying that needs to be done.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Awesome!  Ty.   I know the guys's username, but will ask him first if he wants to be mentioned in the thread.  Probably fine, but I feel it's respectful to ask first.  Here's a tiny bit of progress.  When I'm out next week, should I go ahead and move some dirt to expose the stem, or some of the...

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Nice!   You may be the only hope for my strain this year.   Another THP member had a few seedlings.  All but one were destroyed in a bad storm last week.   I just don't have good vibes about my plant.     I'll be out at the family garden the next Thursday; taking a long weekend.  I'll be staring...

Ty 4 the advice.   You pepper is from a different pod, so I don't think it is a twin. :) Looking forward to a new pic.

    Dragon49's 2019 Grow Log

Unfortunately, there are no permanent covered areas on the deck. It can be brought inside, but the container was 54.5 pounds when the soil was much drier, so I'm sure it's even heavier now.  It was hard for me to move it around and I'm not expecting or asking anybody else to, so it will stay...
