Island_Dan 2013 Glog (First super hot grow season!)

It's an early girl. Just an experiment since I never grew a tomato in hydroponics before. Bought two identical looking seedlings, one in ground and one in hydro. The hydro one is twice the size already.

Changing Light Cycles to induce or help flowering

+1   They are light neutral. They need 12+ hours and that's it.

contest Growdown: Prik Kee Noo Suan!: Prik a peck of peppers!

30 days seems good to me. And Jeff, do you see any algae growth with those blue buckets? Please tell me more about this drip system you have since I am planning to move to a similar system. What size res and pump are you running? And did you make the drip rings yourself or purchased one?

contest Growdown: Prik Kee Noo Suan!: Prik a peck of peppers!

Yeah we have all learnt from this. Bunghole washers can't beat dwc's. Dirt can't beat hydroponics. 150 days is not enough to grow a prik kee noo suan in competition. Don't compete against scratch ever again. Such a wealth of knowledge!!

My plant has 7 full grown pods that are still green for the last two weeks. I guess we will see.

    hydroponic Hydroponic plant support

Okay so I can't be the only one who ends up in a frustrating situation and are left with the thoughts, "you stupid idiot! Why didn't you see this coming and do something about it sooner!!" Well last week I went through that when my two largest plants in dwc gave up in the battle for support...

    DWC happy vs Stressed Glog

Okay update! As of 06/05/2013, the experiment has officially began. The plants have been on bloom nutrients for two week now and a fresh batch was mixed today except for a couple slight adjustments. Plant 1 got a regular mix of 3 gallons of RO water, 90ml of pure blend pro bloom and 15ml of...

contest Growdown: Prik Kee Noo Suan!: Prik a peck of peppers!

Don't get me wrong but I think this competition will have to be extended. There is no way we will have enough harvestable pods in like 40 days. They won't ripen in time...

contest Growdown: Prik Kee Noo Suan!: Prik a peck of peppers!

Here is mine as of today. It's a lot bigger. I did a bite change and gave it full power bloom mix with hydroplex bud maximizer and calmag. TDS is 1640 ppm. Very high now and will stay that way until the end.

Island_Dan 2013 Glog (First super hot grow season!)

I am awake! The rooting experiment. I don't know what's going on with that. It seems healthy but hasn't shown signs of roots yet. There is one tiny little hair and I think it may be a first root but it is absorbing water somehow. I have 6 plants in the ground and rest are in pots outside...

Help identify tomato problem in DWC

I will agree with monkey as a first try to fix the problem as it doesn't involve spending any money. Mix a new nutrient solution and only add half the nutes to try the theory out. My experience though has been nutrient burn with a high EC.
