Help identify tomato problem in DWC

Try the EC for sure. That's a cheaper fix than buying cal mag

Help identify tomato problem in DWC

Check out the picture though. It appears to only be affecting the new growth... Wouldn't a high EC affect the whole plant?

    hydro?

The water stays about half an inch below the net pot. If you want a ready to go kit, the general hydroponic water farm is a great way to start. It has a water level gauge, large pot to hold lots of hydroton, it comes with hydroton and a starter pack of general hydroponic flora series of...

    hydro?

NFT's do not work very well with peppers mainly due to the fact that they grow too big for a NFT rail. Growing big pepper plants in hydroton expanded clay is hard enough getting support to a large top heavy plant and just a single rockwool cube will definitely not handle the weight of a pepper...

Help identify tomato problem in DWC

The plant doesn't look to bad at all actually. Just monitor it and see what is happening. You may want to buy some calmag to supplement into the nutrients as tomatoes require a lot of calcium and a lack of calcium could cause the leaf curl you are experiencing.

    Sweet pepper questions

They should do fine outside. I plant them straight into the garden and they take off like crazy normally.

Help identify tomato problem in DWC

How high is the water level? Are their roots into the water yet? You will need to water the plant from the top until the roots reach down into the nutrient solution. The nutrient solution should be about an inch below the net pot although when the plants are new and the roots haven't developed...

Help identify tomato problem in DWC

GH flora will pretty much buffer your PH to 5.8-5.9 about which is fine so I don't think that this is a problem. It would be great if you could give us a little more information like what size bucket, is there an air pump in it and is it producing good bubbles? Did you recently move the plant...

    Aquaponic systems (let's experiment together!)

7.8-8.6 is where the nitrifying bacteria like to be but after they are established the nitriticafion process should naturally bring the ph down. Plants like ph of 5.5-6.5 and fish like 6-7 I think so you want ph about 6.5 to balance between the fish preference and the plants preference. I could...

    Aquaponic systems (let's experiment together!)

Well the day after added salt, my system seemed to just have completed cycling. I tested again today and ammonia and nitrites are zero and nitrates are 20 ppm. I thought it was weird and asked the gurus on the AP forum is the salt was affecting my system and they said no, cycling is just...

contest Growdown: Prik Kee Noo Suan!: Prik a peck of peppers!

Not as good as yours. I had to add half a gallon of water half way through the week. This thing is using a lot for the size. My 2 monster morugas go through about a gallon of water every 4 days now.

Everyday I see mine, it is a little bigger. Hopefully I will catch up soon. I have about 8 peppers on the plant already.

I am so surprised it took that high nute concentration without burning! I will measure the height of mine today and take a side on picture.

I haven't seen my plant in a couple of days so today I will get an update! Scratch is cheating some how I know he is. What hormone are you using? Gibberellic Acid?

    Aquaponic systems (let's experiment together!)

Well bad news. I found 4 dead fish today. Seems like my nitrites are spiralling out of control. My ammonia is still at 0 ppm and my nitrates have dropped from being off the scale to 40 ppm. Nitrites are off the scale and above the 8ppm max the kit shows I am sure. All 4 fish lost was Yellow...
