    What Mistakes Have You Made This Season?

    Yes. I've done that in years past, and I suspected the watering carried my radishes and turnips too deep to sprout.

    What Mistakes Have You Made This Season?

    I'm perhaps in the process of a mistake. I've had my peppers in solo cups now for about a week, and already the roots are coming out the bottom! I can't put them outside yet, can't re-pot into bigger containers indoors because I don't have the light. Aya!

    Need a back-up plan

    My Jamaican Hot Chocolates are my worst germinators this season. Only 2/8 germinated in jiffy pellets. So far only 1/4 hooked after a week on a paper towel with a heat mat.

    food =[ the failures ]=

    Chow mein's etymological origin is actually 炒面 (chǎomiàn), which means "fried (wheat) noodles" in Chinese. Nothing quite so interesting as appears here. :rofl:

    Aji Margariteno, Mako Akokosrade, Manganji

    I'm growing the Mako Akokosrade. I've never grown it before or eaten one, but it's supposedly as hot as an habañero. More info is here and here.

    the strange thing i noticed. can anyone tell me why?

    How strange. Mine do the opposite, tending to fold upward before the lights go out, then flatten back out when the lights are on. It's like they know it's their bedtime!

I'm happy to pick two off your list in exchange! :) There's pics of them in the comments of my glog, too. I have some Aji Rojo seeds (I don't see it on your list...

    Tibetan cascabel is very bulbous. It was from a Fishwell brand bag of dried chilies I purchased in a Chinese market in the San Gabriel Valley. chaotian jiao Tibetan bell by bearsbearsbears, on Flickr The other one, which was marked "朝天椒" and was from a Sichuan-based company, is thinner and...

    T5 HO

    I ended up purchasing that partially busted t5 6-bulb one on CL. It works great! I figured 350w is less money per month than 1000w by quite a bit, and I'm just using it to get seedlings to plant-out stage. Thanks everyone for your feedback!

    Need help identifying this common long green chile pepper from the store

    Oh, I thought they were the kind that are like 1"-1.25" across, maybe 6-9" long. They're sweet and hot and available in every Asian or "international" market here in North GA. They're just called "long hot" or "Korean hot" and almost spongy inside, sometimes wrinkly at the top like an aribibi.
