    Pollination issues

my advice is be patient. If there's flowers and they don't turn yellow and fall off, you'll get fruit.

    vendor Fake Seed Warning

I was forced to buy piri piri seeds on amazon this year cause no one else had them and prickly pear pads from ebay for the same reason.  I was screwed on the peppers, Im pretty sure theyre Joes long cayennes and the cactus pads worked out great.  Honestly, I was more surprised by the cactus. ...

    Flowering too soon??

plants are incredibly efficient, they wont waste energy.  If a plant cant handle budding, it wont.  Don't expect them to be hot though, a study showed "heat" doesn't peak until 30-50 days after a plant starts flowering.

water DIY rainwater collector for watering my chilis.

very cool idea using the raingutter itself as a water reservoir. Your right about fermenting weeds in water as a nutrient boost to plants, This also works with any undesirable plants, just throw them in a bucket of water for a week or more, strain and use for watering.

    Nutrient Issue or mites?

looks like herbicidal damage or excessive use of oils or soaps.  Whatever the problem the plant is stressed, instead of treating for mites, wait and look for continuing damage.  Mites should be visible with a magnifying glass. My bet is herbicide.

    Chemical vs. Organic

I would imagine if you want something specific in a specific place you will have to put them there.  I just try to make the soil healthy and increase bio-diversity as much as possible, The real work horses of my garden are probably wolf spiders, black beetles, centipedes and birds.  I even have...

    Chemical vs. Organic

the sheeting is 8mm twin wall polycarbonate, the framing is pvc.  It has a reinforced pvc mounting base that you dig a trench for and set in, the rest snaps together and is held in place with pins.  It took me like 4-5 days to assemble by myself.

    Chemical vs. Organic

It was more about relying on a natural balance to keep your pests down.  In seven years of gardening I've never had pest problems on my peppers.  Aphids show up early, my peppers aren't out in spring but my flowers are.  They also prefer tender plants over woody ones, once they colonize the...

    Chemical vs. Organic

Its actually made of plastic, http://www.greenhousescanada.com/2016-Hobby-Gardener-8x12-Doors-on-Both-Sides.html I wanted a geocentric dome but could only afford a plastic sheet-ed one so i got this instead.  I like it, funny enough any durability issues Ive had have been with the aluminum...

my favorite part about growing mushrooms is that its like having sea monkeys for a pet. Except instead of flushing them down the toilet, you get to eat them instead!

    Chemical vs. Organic

My exterminators just showed up! you can either work with nature or against it.  Nature works as a system, remove one of the pieces and the system fails, If i remove the prey (pests) before these guys hatch they wont stick around and Ill be left to fend off any pests that do show up all by...

    Skeeter dunks in sprayer

mosquito dunks are poisonous food for the larvae, it has to be in the water with the larvae to work, spraying doesn't seem like it would be effective.  Also because its food it doesn't dissolve and  would most likely clog your sprayer.  I clogged my sprayer with compost tea, even though I...
