    Thanks, they are Fowlers vacola bottles, so they can be reused, just need to replace the lids every few seasons. It should be fine, sitting on pH 3. They went through the preserving unit to be sure though.

    22 litres of inky black close to imperial oatmeal stout at 7.35%.  And now we wait.  Luckily I have the english IPA ready while I do..     Looking forward to seeing the entries and the tasting notes for the brewdown!

      Agree, 1 litre of sauce with 1/4 pod?  It won't be really noticeable in a creamy sauce like that.  Drop a pod in there, they will be fine.  Or better still make 2 cups with a quarter and 2 cups with a full and let people work up to it.

    Support brewing underway.  Oatmeal stout went imperial.    Toasted the oats a few days ago, some acridity can come from toasting and then using right away.  Upped the marris otter to 5.9kg and added some choc wheat and some munich I as it was lying around.  Good workout on my mill today!    ...

    Basically cook the apples in cider for 10 minutes, add chillies, cook for another 10, add the other ingredients, cook for 20.  Blend the crap out of it with a stick blender and bottle in sterilized bottles.  Add the lemon juice just before blending, so you can adjust for pH.

    finished braising, into the fridge overnight.  braising liquid will cool in the pot, skim the fat and strain the solids before boiling again in the am with a bunch of extra ingredients...

    Nogne-0 1 Bumper's place zero.  Bloody close to a bottle bomb, shot beer into the air on cracking.  Contacted the brewery, I can't remember the last time I had a beer do  this.
