Welp, this plant is still alive and kicking! I used the peroxide on it and while the thin spot is still there, the plant continues to grow. I'm frankly surprised that it is still alive because everything indicated that it would likely die. We will see if it goes anywhere!

Thanks man! She is pretty pleased with it. She was initially upset that the paint didn't match the cabinet but there was no effing way I was veneering the exterior, finding the right color and staining it. Color matched the desk across the room so it matches at least something!

I have not yet tried with peppers, but I have taken clippings from basil, put them in a cup of water with hydroponic fertilizer and let it go for a week or so until it starts to sprout roots, then planted in dirt. Has worked every time!

Can always make pimiento cheese and add in minced hot pepers! It isn't going to solidify, but it makes an awesome grilled cheese and goes great on burgers. I agree with TB; you'd have to make your own if you want it solid. Not the hardest thing to do.  ...
