Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

You know, I was looking up Aconite and discovered the same thing, although the lady called it winter Aconite, I hadn't realized the importance of the "winter" part. That article is crazy - a gardener dying from just brushing it?!     Thanks Paul, and yeah, I've got a few things going on... some...

    Stickman's 2015 - That's All She Wrote...

Great to see the signs of life around your place Rick.  Interesting to hear the similarities and differences between you out East and us here in Michigan.  We've got morels too, and it's a big deal around here.  People keep their spots secret and take that to the grave. I've offered to be a...

Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

Thanks!     I am still having a bit of trouble getting them to root.  The Galapagoense is doing ok, but the Aji de Mono is not so much...       Hey Rick - the snow missed us, and I'm grateful! I think the lake pushed that storm just north of me.  The Great Lakes do all sorts of things to our...

Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

One of my buddies tapped a walnut tree last year, I think. That was the first I heard of that.  If I remember right you can also tap a birch... I think.  It's a fun project for sure.     Thank you! Now it's just keeping everything going until I can get them out into the greenhouse.     Thank...

Thanks for the link on composting. What sorts of essential rock dust do you get and how do you know what you need?

    Jeff's Glog- 2015 edition.--In the dirt

sorry to hear about the mites, but glad you caught them. How do you think they got in?   I overwintered two Giant mexican rocotos this year because they didn't produce a ripe pod for me last year.  I'm really hoping I can get one this year - I am anxious to see how they taste!

    Jason's (Plantguy76) 2015 Adventure

That's funny, I just had a parishioner telling me how much he liked the green zebra tomato. They must be pretty good!  That is a nice tomato list!

Yep, they're huge! Big leaves, thick stems, tall... great job! Those roots must be about ready to burst out of those cups!

Getting stuff in the dirt - good deal! I bet the peppers will do great when you get them out there after all the work you've done with the soil

That's cool that it forked that low. I wonder if it will produce double or if the weight of basically two pepper plants will put stress on that spot or what will happen.   Your plants are looking great!

Wow, that's crazy. I don't think I've ever seen that before. That name fits. So what does that tell you? Slime mold wouldn't be a fungi, correct? But does that mean the soil life is waking up?

Pulpiteer 2015 - New Year, New Hopes

Thank you! yeah, the latest count I have is 385, so I guess I'm a bit over that 300 mark now.  I'll only keep about 140 of them though. The PT seems to really be helping, but I'm a bit nervous since my last episode came out of nowhere.  But it is nice to have it feel pretty good.  I think it...

    PaulG 2015

Looking great Paul. Like everyone said, that Goatsweed really stood out. Your plants seem pretty stocky and thick, looking nice! I had a parishioner drop off a greenhouse he wasn't using today.  It's 6' by 8' so I'm pretty excited about that.  Just thought I'd share that with the greenhouse master!

    Sawyer '15 - Killing frost 11/22 + pics

That's an interesting idea. Maybe I'll try that with some and put some others in a spot in the ground and just see what happens.  The seed was cheap at Tradewinds, so I thought I'd give them a shot. To be honest, I have had little success germinating much beyond peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers...
