    Help with Plant Problem

It looks white to my eye that's why I put my hand behind the leaf. It may be a  bit yellow (my eyes have issues at the moment). The more I look around the more I think it might be a mag deficiency but that should clear up with the fertilizer that I laid recently.  It could be from over watering...

    Help with Plant Problem

My Bell Pepper leaves (some) have a splotchy look to them. I'm not sure what it is. I'm thinking it's a nut deficiency I recently fert with some tomatotone and kelp and I was thinking maybe fertilizer burn but now I'm not so sure. They're not yellow, that's the sun lighting up the back of the...

Crazy dogs or Do hot pepper plants also have capsaicin?

Yeah I was thinking that he might have been freaking out over the hot instead of having a reaction to the chili on a neurological level. :)

I'd be interested to know the ratio as well. From what I've read on other posts I think it's 1sp per gallon? Can someone confirm?

Crazy dogs or Do hot pepper plants also have capsaicin?

My dog likes hot peppers so I think putting more hot pepper on the plant is an invitation for him to eat them lol. He's not a puppy just a very cute and mellow dog that seems to enjoy hot things lol. His brother could care less. He's a good boy so as long as I correct him a few times he'll leave...

Crazy dogs or Do hot pepper plants also have capsaicin?

I'm not feeding it to him he just likes it and when I tried to use the hot pepper this morning as a deterrent he ate it. It's ok to let the dogs eat the fruits of most of the nightshade family of plants (some are just poisonous in genera though). So, ripe tomatoes are ok but not the stems or...

Crazy dogs or Do hot pepper plants also have capsaicin?

Sooo, my dog who likes to suck on garlic plants has moved on to sucking on the leaves of my hot pepper plants. I was wondering if anyone knows if the plants (stems) have capsaicin in them as well? I'm starting to think he likes spicy things, which is fine, but I also don't want him to eat a...

shopping Where to Buy Cost Effective Perlite and Vermiculite Central Florida

Yeah, those prices can't be beat! I use vermiculite because of trial and error. I find that the plants do better with a mix of perlite and vermiculite. No idea why. Perhaps the perlite aerates better and the vermiculite holds moisture better (just a guess)? No clue but the plants love it.    Let...

All you need to know about Wally-Bags

I started making my own grow bags this year. My bags are a bit over 7 gallons (yay college math) and the plants seem to love them. I have no problem with watering and I live in Florida. Mine don't give off water unless they're really over watered. I was a bit worried about losing to much water...

    My Crazy Dogs

Today I applied Tomato Tone and some Kelp to my plants. The dogs were outside with me and when I turned my back I see both of them standing very close to one of the pots just staring at me. The little idiots were eating the Tomato Tone and Kelp out of the pots (I had not had a chance to  water...

Tomato Tone and Kelp - I Feel Like a Mad Scientist

A question for you JJ - Why do you use the different tones? Are you making your own soil with no nutrients in it? I'm of the mind that my garden soil has nutrients and I don't want to over do it and have some kind of mutant plants (last year I watched a cucumber grab a trellis right in front...
