Day 57 update. It's been one of those weeks this week, so the plants have been neglected a little. A few of the plants didn't get enough water and wilted really badly, luckily I got to them before it was too late. A couple more of the plants are showing signs of edema - I need to improve...

Took a while, but my world record Jims finally made it to the party.

Sorry, no pics. The pot went in the garbage. The bugs were so small I doubt I could have captured them with my camera anyway. I will try sowing some more seeds in fresh soil, hopefully I'll have more luck this time.

I hate to be a party pooper, but I just checked to see if any of my growdown seeds had hooked yet and I noticed tiny little white things crawling on the surface of the soil (really tiny, I could barely see them). I haven't seen them on any of my other plants that are in the same potting mix...

Day 49 update. My plants seem to be growing well, for the most part. A couple of my annuums have a bit of edema (I guess they didn't like the self watering method) but the rest are doing ok. The jigsaw crosses: I finally got a golden Marconi to sprout without a stuck helmet, woo hoo! Only...

   I'm curious about this too. Check out Khang Starr's YouTube videos, he uses the double cup method and his plants always look great:

Day 42 update. A few hours after I posted my day 36 update I had a white 7-pot white finally germinate; I had just about given up on these. My quickest germ time was a white bhut at 6 days and my slowest is the white 7-pot after 36, go figure! I have resown seeds for the yellow Marconi again...

+1 for MarsHydro vs GalaxyHydro (based on what I've read on some of the other growing sites). Depends on how much current this thing actual draws, what your electricity rates are and how many hours per day you plan to have them turned on. My MarsoHydro 300w unit (actual power draw 180w) costs...
