    Meatfreak 2013

Wow! The Jalabaneros were on the outside row. On one side of it in the row was 6 Jalapeno Biker Billy plants and on the other side in the same row was 3 Holy Mole plants. One row over next to it had 7 Pod SR strain and 7 Pod Orange, the whole next door row was 7 pod. The only thing that had...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

I've never seen these, so will do some comparisons too.       Thanks, so far so good; now they need to get humpin' and make up for lost time.       Thanks, they have a lot of growing to do in 8 weeks in order to provide that much shade, but it's a goal to shoot for. :)       Sorry to say she...

    PLEASE HELP ASAP...

"With more than four hundred thousand different species, beetles make up forty percent of all insect species and account for twenty-five percent of the world's life forms. Differentiating between the innumerable types of Coleoptera is difficult." :)

    Transplanting depth

If young and leggy they go deeper. When setting out in ground or a larger pot they get planted at the same level and I try and remove any lower leaves that touch ground.   Maters get striped of most lower leaves/branches and trench planted.

Operation Golden Garden 2014: Let's Get Started!

    Straw as mulch

Don't use hay; you'll be seeding your garden with grass and weed seed. Wheat straw is clean.   Worms can eat right through newspaper. :)

sun Optimum hours of direct sunlight?

My garden of chilies receive around 11 hours of sun and all varieties seem to like all they can get in my experience. It's the heat/temps you have to watch. Pubes don't like heat at all, but most everything else will still produce pods up into the lower 90's F and even a little higher if not...

    DocNrock's 2013 Glog - 7/11/13

Everything looks great Doc, plants spread everywhere. :)   An injector (fertilizer injector) meters and mixes the nutrients into your water flow in the drip system. You can adjust the ratio of the fertilizer added to the flow or also turn it off when you just want to distribute water. Any water...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Thanks, works about done until harvest.     Yep, had it mulched and strawed the last few seasons. Ants don't make any holes in the mulch, they just invade and sometimes build nests within the garden and travel below and above the mulch; real troublesome and painful pests. Straw is spread. :)    ...

    Silver_Surfer's Soggy Setback 2013

Yep, live out in the country and if you look a few pages back you'll see I posted pics of tracks in the tilled ground of deer, rabbits and coon. That trio as well as moles give my plants or produce the once over every season. I just try and plant enough for all of us.   Well water, can't...
