pests Damaged Plants: Cold Damage, Pest or Disease?

Could be sunburn, nute burn, and slow growth due to cool weather. Especially if you have them in the shade.

    Weak Brown Moruga

Good luck! Who knows, maybe it will grow a pair at some point and really take off. Even the best seeds from the best growers just sometimes sprout weak plants. Look at the folks who grow hundreds of plants; there always seem to be a few runts that either get culled or nursed along.

Quick questions about young Chocolate Bhutlah and Bhut Jolokia

If it worked for mpicante, I am sure it will work for you. I just do things differently. Once they get their 2nd or 3rd set I transfer to solo cups with Promix that has already been amended with mushroom compost, Black Hen, Tomato Tone, Garden Lime, and a few other goodies so they don't need the...

Very nice looking plant! Must have been bum seeds or otherwise poor genetics for the brown moruga :tear:

First Attempt to grow peppers glog

They are still adjusting to their new digs. Once they get their feet under them I bet they take off!

    Weak Brown Moruga

That is not a lot of growth for one month in a bigger pot. How hot does the pot get? Soil also looks like it may have a bit of a salt crust on the surface. How often do you fertilize, and with what?

Quick questions about young Chocolate Bhutlah and Bhut Jolokia

I would have gone at no more than 1 tbsp/gallon of the 5-1-1 fish ferts, not least because I keep the seedlings in the apartment and the fiance would kill me for stinking up the place ;)

I too got a shade cloth for the brutal Florida summer. I might get a 50 or 60% if I were you. I got a 30% and actually doubled it over which has been fantastic for the tomatoes, and good for the peppers as well. Biggest fatalii plants I have yet grown, though that could be down to multiple...

You can take any off-the-shelf potting mix and have good results. It sort of depends on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. I would suggest asking around local nurseries if they have a "house mix" and adding about 1/4 to 1/3 that volume of perlite and the recommended amount of Espoma...

Why are supers hard to grow?

That is how 1 out of 2 of my chocolate scotch bonnets has grown so far. Sprouted in 7 days, cotyledons for 11 days with no growth under the grow light. Moved them outside to see what would happen and schwing! the first set of true leaves is popping after 1 day. The other plant germinated at...

Stunted growth and curled leaves, couple of theories

Sounds indeed like the soil is the culprit then. It is holding way too much water. You could mix the soil you currently have with 1/3 that volume of perlite. So if you have 3 cu ft. of soil currently, mix in 1 cu ft. of perlite. That will greatly increase your drainage and possibly save your...

harvesting 35 Kg harvest.Pod yield vs pot size comparison and thoughts.

The sample size is small, which means that what might be normal variance over a larger data set can look significant.

    **FIRST POST** - - - Yellowing Leaves

How certain are you that they are getting enough water or conversely that they are drying out enough between waterings? I go by the weight of the cups. Let them dry out very well until the cups are extremely light weight. They should almost feel like nothing is in them. Maybe the bottom cups are...

Brilliant! Thank you for the analysis. Did you run into any pest problems during the grow? How many times did you harvest pods throughout the season?

Sick Peppers but only with one kind, photo.

Might be sunburn, overwater, maybe overfertilization. I think I see a tiny bit of edema in the top right photo. Keeping them outside will help them dry out faster. I know a few of my ghost peppers looked like downright balls after the combo of overwatering and then hardening off. For me...

Stunted growth and curled leaves, couple of theories

How often do you water? I have found for my setup that under the growlight with no fan, watering any more than once every 5-8 days was too much.

Stunted growth and curled leaves, couple of theories

I can pick up 4 cu ft. of perlite at the local hydroponics near me for $20. Sometimes on sale for $15 in the spring. Smaller amounts cost proportionately more.
