  I really don't know anything about cake decorating, so not sure what the difference is between fondant and marzipan, but to me the decorations looked better than they tasted.  I am not patient enough for fine, detailed work like that.  I'm more of a slap some frosting on, and call it good kind...

Love the Manzano pics!  Mine was starting to bloom while it was indoors, but once it got planted out, it changed its mind and has been focusing on spreading out its feet and now is starting to bush out some.  Sure hope I get a pod or two  before the season ends.  Didn't start the seeds for that...

Yeah, the wind definitely comes through here!  There is a mountain ridge across from us, and the one you see in the photo is behind our house.  Both run west to east, so the wind just funnels between them.  I always put the plant supports on the east side of the plant, because 90% of the time...

Hope I didn't speak too soon about those fires!  One just popped up over near Rifle Gap.       It's a good distance from where I live, but still you can see the smoke from my driveway.

Wow, and I've been whining about 40 mph winds!  Sure hope all of your plants pull through okay.  Like ghostpepperstore said, the ones that make it will be stronger, bushier plants in the end.  Hang in there!

The highest we've hit so far is 96, but the rest of the week isn't looking too bad low 90's today and tomorrow and then upper 80's over the weekend.  We still have red flag warnings in place though, due to the gusty winds and low humidity levels.  Been a good while since we've had any...

  I hear ya'!  Last year was the first time I had tried using soaker hoses down at the community garden.  Saved me at least 30 - 45 minutes a day hand watering everything, and with me working now, my time is stretched pretty thin..  The hoses burst late in the summer, but I'm still sold on...

Great to see blooms on your Manzano!  Yours is a bit further along than mine.  I have been pleased with how well mine has tolerated the harsh conditions down at the community garden.  It didn't drop any leaves like most of the other plants did.

You're not going to wait for them to ripen?  I've only picked them once they were red, which takes a while after they've reached full sized.  You'll miss out on the sweetness if you eat them now!

  Your welcome!   The Alma Paprika usually gets around golf ball size for me, but YMMV.       Things aren't really staked yet.  I'm hoping to get by the community garden after work today and run the first line of twine for the Florida weave.  That should give the plants the support to survive...
