    Devv's Dirt Grow-Almost done..

Awesome pictures from Father's Day!  Beautiful grandkids!!!  Thanks for sharing!   Couple of questions on the stuffed peppers.  Is the rice cooked or raw?  Instant or regular?  Does the stuffing not fall out of the pepper when they are floating in the sauce like that?  Never made stuffed peppers...

    WalkGood 2013, 2014 and Beyond

I finally started looking through your glog, 68 pages!!! WOW, you're giving Rick a run at longest glog this year aren't you?  Got through the first few and last few pages.  I'll have to browse through the ones in the middle when I have more time.  (Supposed to be working right now  :shh: )   ...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

I really don't know anything about cake decorating, so not sure what the difference is between fondant and marzipan, but to me the decorations looked better than they tasted.  I am not patient enough for fine, detailed work like that.  I'm more of a slap some frosting on, and call it good kind...

Stickman's 2013 Glog - Time To Pull The Plug on 2013

Okay, I have to admit it.  I'm a little jelly of your Manzano blooming and podding already!  Seems like just yesterday, you couldn't even get one to sprout for you, and look at that thing now!  Good job!!!

    stc3248, 2013 Grow log, Season's Greetings and Season's End

Love the Manzano pics!  Mine was starting to bloom while it was indoors, but once it got planted out, it changed its mind and has been focusing on spreading out its feet and now is starting to bush out some.  Sure hope I get a pod or two  before the season ends.  Didn't start the seeds for that...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

Not sure if they were fondant or what, but everything except the Tinkerbell figurine was edible.  The kids ate so many of the decorations that they were too full to eat the cake!     Just finished feeding the plants here at the house.  Here is the info on the product I'm using:  ...

    Devv's Dirt Grow-Almost done..

So I have been stopping by periodically, and am loving the pics of your grow, the pods, the food, the spicy peanut brittle, and just realized this morning that I've never actually left a comment on your glog.  Thought I would let you know that I am enjoying following your grow.   BTW, been...

RocketMan's 2013 Glog; In The House!!

Congratulations on the new home!  That germination/fermentation room is a real score!!!  Can't wait to see more pics once you're all settled in over there.

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

Yeah, the wind definitely comes through here!  There is a mountain ridge across from us, and the one you see in the photo is behind our house.  Both run west to east, so the wind just funnels between them.  I always put the plant supports on the east side of the plant, because 90% of the time...

Hope I didn't speak too soon about those fires!  One just popped up over near Rifle Gap.       It's a good distance from where I live, but still you can see the smoke from my driveway.

    JoynersHotPeppers 2013 GLOG

Wow, and I've been whining about 40 mph winds!  Sure hope all of your plants pull through okay.  Like ghostpepperstore said, the ones that make it will be stronger, bushier plants in the end.  Hang in there!

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

The cookies were pretty tasty!     Scott, all of the big fires are on the Front Range, which is on the eastern side of the state.  We are closer to the Western Slope.  There's a small fire in the next town over from us, but the winds aren't supposed to be as bad today, so they are thinking...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

No pics again today, since the wind has been gusting up to 35 mph for the past 4 hours.  I guess if I'm going to get anymore decent pics, it will have to be in the early morning before work, since that's the only time the winds are calm around here.     The plants at the community garden seem to...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

The highest we've hit so far is 96, but the rest of the week isn't looking too bad low 90's today and tomorrow and then upper 80's over the weekend.  We still have red flag warnings in place though, due to the gusty winds and low humidity levels.  Been a good while since we've had any...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

I hear ya'!  Last year was the first time I had tried using soaker hoses down at the community garden.  Saved me at least 30 - 45 minutes a day hand watering everything, and with me working now, my time is stretched pretty thin..  The hoses burst late in the summer, but I'm still sold on...

Stickman's 2013 Glog - Time To Pull The Plug on 2013

Great to see blooms on your Manzano!  Yours is a bit further along than mine.  I have been pleased with how well mine has tolerated the harsh conditions down at the community garden.  It didn't drop any leaves like most of the other plants did.

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

Thanks, Ramon!   There won't be any pics today, due to the 30 + mph winds that have been blowing all day.    :mope:   Oh wait, I do have one pic I can post.     First canning project of the season = Strawberry Rhubarb Jam.  Not to brag, but that is deliciousness in a jar! Think I have enough...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

You're not going to wait for them to ripen?  I've only picked them once they were red, which takes a while after they've reached full sized.  You'll miss out on the sweetness if you eat them now!

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

Your welcome!   The Alma Paprika usually gets around golf ball size for me, but YMMV.       Things aren't really staked yet.  I'm hoping to get by the community garden after work today and run the first line of twine for the Florida weave.  That should give the plants the support to survive...

Highalt's 2013 Grow - End of Season Wrap Up

Well, since the weekend seems to be "rush hour" down at the community garden, I thought I'd do a video here at the house.  You'll be happy to know it's my shortest one yet!   See, I'm learning!!!        Tried loading the video straight from the camera onto Windows Movie Maker to edit...
