How did you become a chillihead?

In my third year at University i happened upon an organic products fair on campus. As i was walking around, loving the sheer variety of stuff available, a seed vendor caught my eye. One of the packages with a picture on it in particular interested me and so i bought them. These were my first...

Will my tender babes be safe?

Hey Matt,   while i don't have the most experience with it, i think that at the 6 week mark they will be a more hardy (first 4 weeks they're pretty tender - assuming germination takes a week to a week and a half you are just over the tender mark). To be safe though, maybe get some vermiculite...

    Jazzman's Grow Log - 2013

Haha yes, i do. My parents - after hearing of my Chili-headedness - decided to surprise me for christmas with a grow shelf unit:   Since i now seem to have the space to start TONS of seeds, i figured i'd live vicariously on the pepper front and dream big!    The list right now is tentative; I'm...

    Jazzman's Grow Log - 2013

Hey guys,   Ive put off writing the "end of season" blog update for waaaaay too long. In the midst of moving house, finishing my schooling, and starting a new job, my glog got put down to the bottom of my list of things to do :P   Anyways, i had a great season with lots of learning and i am...

Ornamental Peppers... But what are they?

i could be wrong, but my Black Pearl plants have more rounded peppers. Also, after looking at a couple of the Glogs im following i think i may be wrong on the second one - it could just be a really well-pruned Thai chill plant. How hot are the peppers (if youve tried them)?

Ornamental Peppers... But what are they?

The first pepper plant looks like "Black Olive", and the second one looks like a fully ripe "Medusa" plant. not positive on the last one, but hope my guesses help! good luck with the ID. Any way you look at it, those are some nice plants for that price! -Ben

water Wilting Plant due to overwatering... will it survive?

Hey guys,    so it still hasnt recovered, and is slowly dropping leaves still.      ive thought about taking cuttings, but next year im planning on just starting from seed, and so my hope now is just to get the pods on this one to ripen to a point where i can take some seeds from it for next...

water Wilting Plant due to overwatering... will it survive?

Thanks for the advice, im leaving it to dry out a bit. it was root-bound to begin with but my friend told me she didnt disturb the roots on any of them. she repotted 5 plants and the rest of them seem to be doing fine, so im still at a loss on this one's exact reasons.    ill post back in a week...

    Jazzman's Grow Log - 2013

Hey Guys!   just a quick update with some pics. im getting alot of stuff ripening (finally!) so ive been trying to figure out what works best for preservation. Ive done a little bit of dehydrating both to preserve some seeds and then to try and dehydrate some peppers. ive had mixed results, but...

water Wilting Plant due to overwatering... will it survive?

So here is the plant on the whole   Here are the plants' leaves all wilted   one of the pepper is ripening, so it seems like the plant isnt horribly bad   i was also wondering if maybe it could be a densely packed soil issue? im not sure if my friend was a bit overzealous with the soil or...

water Wilting Plant due to overwatering... will it survive?

Thanks for the advice guys. I have been making sure that the soil is still moist every day when i leave and when i come back from work. the leaves seem to have stopped dropping from the plant but the remaining leaves still look wilted down and don't seem to be inclined to fluff back up to what i...

water Wilting Plant due to overwatering... will it survive?

Hi Chiliheads,   so recently i purchased a nicely grown 7 pot plant that was all decked out in peppers. I went away for a day and while i was gone my friend repotted the plant for me. What she forgot to check was that the drainage holes on the pot had been punched through!    i completely forgot...

could be Medusa. they look like mine. i uploaded a pic of mine in my recent glog update if you want to see for matching :) the medusa didn't have any heat, and has the same leaf shape, pod color changes, and flower as what you described and showed in the pics if my memory serves correctly.  ...
