The perfect qualitys of the perfect pepper potting mix

Dirt....yep I use dirt, maybe some manure and a bit of whatever potting mix churned though....but mostly dirt. I found that with nearly every potting mix I've tried, plants shoot up - then turn all shabby and sick. Dirt filled pots...6 months later and the plants are still happy. I use worm...

Black Congo's and Dougla's going Troppo

Whilst my other types seem to have suffered from all this excessive rain with yellowing leaves and drooped buds/pods, the Congo's and Douglas have taken the advantage and made good. Pods are huge and numerous. This is off one main branch hanging over the fence, and not all of them I might add...

health Plant is becoming less productive, sick plant?

We have had monsoon rain for over a month...and some of my beauties started looking exsactly like yours. Which leads me to beleive its wet feet thats the issue with your plants. I'm not to worried as I've had this issue the last rain season we had here. Let em dry and they drop all the crappy...

    Douglah/Butch T questions/opinions and ebay debate

I agree with chilliadict, fantastic when used in cooking. Imparts a smoky bbq like taste. BTW one point - what you feed em makes a difference too. Use chem ferts, you will end up with chillies that taste like battery acid. Use organics and the sweetness comes out.

Just tap the run off, mix 10 to one in a watering can and water the base. No, I didn't take it as a derail at all. The whole purpose is to share ideas - and your 100 percent right. The big picture (excuse the pun) is to get em big. So how ever you get em to the 7 foot mark...post away on this...

    The curled leaves thing.....again

Unfold the leaf and look behind it. There will be a slight redy-brown stain from the mites. Look very close (hold it up to the light) and you may be able to see the tiny buggers. Mix up some lime sulphur and cover the leaves intil there till its dripping. All my plants get this from time to...

Hey, I'm all for the sharing of idea's - What was your secret. I'm sure there would be others here that don't have resources to build and maintain a worm farm who may benifit from another method more attainable for them.........In other words "Do Tell"

Glad you asked. As with the other post ive showed a bit earlier, It was literaly covered in pods. From this picture - I've already thinned them out. I have half filled my freezer with very large (some the size of Roma Tomatoes) pods. Here is some earlier shot - and they got a little bigger when...

    chinense Douglah VS Trinidad Scorpion

All i can tell you is this. I went the whole pod on both. I made sure the scorpion was red, round and plump with the little stinger and all (and was the butch T from the hippie seed co). Don't get me wrong the heat was likened to a sudden strike that hit me like a sucker punch. Then after 15...
