I never knew the brandname, as it was a christmas gift and the box and directions never said much. But I did see ones that look just like it going for around $60 on Amazon. It did its job well, that's for sure.

    How crazy am I

I, myself, usually do 3/8 bits on my. Usually between 5 and 8 on the bottom and another 5-8 on the sides. I don't see too much of a problem with 100 tiny ones. Would essentially become more of a screen than a bottom. As long as the drainage holes aren't blocked by a hard surface (like a...

Agreed. It was perfect timing. Really did not feel like watering.

    Newbees Here :-)

Serrano's tend to grow pretty fast too once you get past the first hump of them to start splitting and branching off. But thai hots and super chili's are quick too. Last year my thai's were BY FAR the first to produce. Soil mix depends on how involved you want to get. If you're not wanting to...

Thanks folks. t0mato - I had some plants get shredded too. The rain flooded the garden and 65mph winds sent my nylon greenhouse into the garden on its side because I forgot to close it. Thank goodness that June has been more kind!

Very nice. You'll have lotsa pods to gorge on shortly. Those Fatalii's look very nice. Love the color.

    Small problem w/pepper plants

Some lower leaf foilage loss is normal, but if foilage is getting 'sparse' then that may not be normal. Are new leaves coming in and are they coming in green? You could have a nitrogen problem or maybe a drainage problem. There's a variety of things, really.

Here's the buckets (excluding the 4 currently in quarantine after discovering a couple rogue aphids. My Butch T is coming along beautifully. But even better is the Red Scorpion. He's just about waist high in the bucket. As has quite a thick stem on him. My Bhut Jolokia Indian Carbon. Not...

    Continued 2011 Progress

Decided to start a new thread. Mostly I was tired of 'experiment'. After wind, rain, horrible temperature fluctuations that defined May, June has made the garden beautiful again. It's taken a lot more work than I was ready for, but the roots have finally started going deeper into the soil...

The Surprise Garden - First Season

The MG nutes are fine. I use them myself. But yes, the soil is garbage.

Checked all 4 plants and each one had 1 aphid. One, only one. 2 more days of quarantine.

    Best time(s) to foliar spray?

I've done it at all times of the day/night. They all have risks/rewards. I usually do in the morning myself but that's just how my schedule tends to work. I don't like doing it at night cuz I can get clumsy and likely break something in the dark.

    Brian2112 2011 Apartment growing update

Excellent stuff. That explosive ember is something wonderful. I may have to grow one of those next year as a patio table decoration. And I hope my tobasco's look half as good as yours later this season!

    container My Container Growing Experiment

I partially agree AJ.. It'd be much easier if I had your watering and nute system for my pots, lol. My 22 or so is pretty easy but I know if/when I add the other 10 or so, it's gonna become a bigger pain to water. But I'm okay with that. The much nicer looking plants totally make it worth it...

From the Bed to the Pot

I added some bonemeal but that was it. Once I got them settled in I used my first real watering with nutes.

From the Bed to the Pot

I've been doing it this year a lot. My soil is very dense clay and it became more prnounced this year. Suffice to say, my plants spent about a month in some really tough soil. I started moving them into pots and most (all but a red savina) have doubled in size. You'll certainly want to break...

    container My Container Growing Experiment

Quick update. My Bhut Jolokia Indian Carbon (left) and Red Scorpion (right). My ButchT is rihgt behind the red scorp. They're all doing wonderful and are just bushes. And these are my random anaheim seedling. Huge roots for such a tiny sprout. Everything else is growing like crazy. Just no...
