    PEPPER GROWING

If you're going to use synthetic fertilizers, you should grow in containers. If using organics, plant in ground or in containers. You can and should be more aggressive with organic fertilizing in ground.

seeds Seeds germinated and planted, how much sun?

I always acclimate new starts to full sun. Filtered sun for couple weeks, then full sun. Serranos can get by without the late afternoon sun. They are very tasty when red.

    Encourage flowering?

I never found a reliable way to force peppers to flower. Nothing outside of time. When they reach a certain age, they'll flower profusely but not set fruit. Give them some more time, and they fruit like nobody's business. If I severely prune older plants to sticks, they'll flower, fruit and...

You ask for opinions and you will get different opinions :) I use coco coir. I'm sure someone will mention rockwool. Both have good water/air ratio for root development. You should also check out the cup method.

    vendor Ordering Pepper Seeds

Ebay provides no time limit on follow-up feedback. But you must leave the first feedback within 60 days or so. So first comment that you received items in timely fashion. Then follow up at later time with your findings, cuss and praise. We just have to be more discriminating in all...

Neils last chilli test of the season

Neil mentioned getting it from the flyingappleseedco, so you want to meet the owner and ask him He has wisdom in all things pepper. I noticed mmcdermott2 is a fan.

    hydroponic Hydroponics...please work!!

I never cloned in such a setup. That doesn't mean it won't work. If the cutting doesn't wilt in the next several hours, then the setup is fine, and then you play the forever waiting game. If it wilts, then we have to make some tweaks.

    Trinidad Scorpion Theory...

Haha, one of them. I had a particular shape in mind. Just realized a barrackpore 7 pod could fill that role. I'll take a yellow or purple version now.

    Trinidad Scorpion Theory...

Tails are cool. But I've noticed when the scorpion pods don't have tails, their shapes resemble those of the Douglah. I wonder if this is a sign of their breeding. Wouldn't it be nice to breed a red Douglah with warts and all.

    Brain Strain vs Butch T

Personally, I like the Douglah, particularly the Alphanerdz strain. Anyways, a hurtin is a hurtin. It's best to keep people guessin  .

Seems the recent better tasting variant originated with Butch, compared to what he distributed first go-around?

    Avacado Tree

Probably best to grow in a container for a few years. Just bring inside during freeze. If you want in ground, you'll need to come up with cold protection. You'll have to protect it every year until it's a large tree. I would only go through all this trouble if it was a Mexican variety...

    Dragon Fruit

They're shallow rooters and don't need much soil. You want to encourage them to grow aerial roots rather than soil roots.
