Thanks for the comments. I always wear protection when dissecting these pods :) Here's a pic of my first decent harvest when I got more than a few ripe ones. I'm hoping this plant will supply enough pods for some powder. Mmm...chocolate powder...drool...

I think Botanicare's hydro nutes are to be mixed with tap. Pure water doesn't provide an adequate buffer. For example, Pure Blend Pro Grow can lower rainwater's pH to 3-4. Also, some of the formulas don't supply enough calcium.

Figured I post some notes from my first time growing this plant. This plant was started in early May and I pulled down first ripe pods earlier this month. The pods I have so far seem to be orange hab size--longest little over 2 inches but seem dwarfed by the monsters Neil has in his video...

GH 3 part is the old reliable in the hydro world. Everything to grow plants in those 3 bottles. Just don't overfeed.

Hot peppers don't seem to make you break a sweat. You're one of the lucky ones :) Good job with the douglah.

Finally got to taste my own homegrown douglah. Much hotter than the brain/sr strain. Taste was just a light 7pod flavor which pales next to the reds. May not come across well in the pic but the insides do look like melted butter as Judy described. Very liquidy lol.

Hey smoke, Assuming the lime is around 70% Calcium Carbonate, the mixing of 6 grams with 100 mL of 5% vinegar should give you calcium acetate. Maybe someone can check my math but you're going to end up with around 6-7% calcium acetate. Probably the best you're gonna get since the vinegar's...
