Hot n Spicy Grey Goose Martini Up & Dirty

Absolut Pepper is nasty... not even spicy, just green pepper taste. I almost puked drinking it.

    spirits The Whisky Thread

Who's tried Islay whiskys (or any whisky in general...) mixed with club soda? It's amazing! You can still taste every bit of the whisky, but the soda adds a layer of refreshment to the drink... and really opens up all the flavors/aromas.

    spirits The Whisky Thread

Booker's bourbon (my tax refund present from me to me): barrel proof whisky, aged 7 years and bottled at 128.6 proof. If there is a heaven, I think it might be somewhere in this bottle. Now please excuse me while I peek my head in and look around for a while...

WHAT'S IN YOUR GULLET??ale vs lager

Ales! Ales! Ales! IPA's, imperial stouts, Belgian ales, Irish/Scotch/red ales, Wheat ales, it's all good in the 'hood. I do love lagers, but ales are the winner for me. Ooh, one has not lived until they have a rye ale...

What's the best beer you've ever drank?? (My old review)

I would give my left leg to taste Westvleteren 12, Dark Lord, and Pliny the Younger (all of them or no deal lol). God, if only that was possible... lol. I can't wait for KBS to be released again, and I want Old Rasputin (had it once before, but didn't know it at the time, and can't remember what...

What's the best beer you've ever drank?? (My old review)

Founder's Nemesis 2010: a barleywine at 12% abv; dark brown; almost black; and roasty, almost like a an imperial stout. It's so complex and flavorful, I couldn't stop at one, I had to finish the 4 pack right there.

    Arbol chilies

You know, not everyone can just go from not eating peppers to munchin' on bhuts all day long. Most have to work their way up, and so far, my "comfort" level is just past the average heat of a serrano. I can handle habs just fine, but my gut never agrees with them, so I avoid eating them straight...

    Sauce vs. Pepper.

With fresh pods, the oils come into direct contact with your tongue, so I'd imagine it would be more intense.

The endorphin rush - how long does it last?

I have a low tolerance, so a just one orange habanero did it for me... and it was like being on a low dose of Vicodin and it lasted a few minutes (about 20 min.). But I never do it for the endorphins... I do it for the lip burn.

Where do you like your burn?

Well, ok... Describe your favorite burn... Good?

Where do you like your burn?

LOL! Dammit! I'm trying to drink beer here... I can't afford to spill my $13 four pack of imperial stout... But yeah, the ring of fire, is my least favorite... along with gut burn.

Where do you like your burn?

I personally like the lip burn the best. I don't care for the throat burn, and the tongue burn never thrilled me much either... But the lip burn just makes me smile... :)

    Arbol chilies

I found a good supply of dried Arbols at the grocery I go to... I suppose I could give them a go, as long as their hotter than serranos. I can finally say I've graduated past serrano chiles. I can handle habs just fine on food, but on their own, straight up, I puked both time (gut burn).

    Arbol chilies

I've seen a couple ranges for the SHU's for Arbols, one is 15,000-30,000, another is 50,000-65,000... Which one is it?

    Sting Vs Heat ?!?!?!

I know what you mean. Some peppers give you more heat (habs, serranos, etc...), but in my experience, jalapenos and fresnos give more of a knives slicing your tongue so shreds feeling. It's a paradox I might never be able to understand, but it is what it is. I, personally, gave up bothering with...

food How do you like your chili?

What's the Scoville rating for Congo Black habs? Or Chocolate habs for that matter...

    Very courious realisation...

I guess I should clarify this, I do find habs and the like hotter that jals, as far as perceived heat goes; but jalapenos just hurt more. They sting, and stab, and bite, and are just unpleasant IMO.

Sorry, I got you mixed up with hittman, the guy who kinda did veer off... sorry about that.

spirits Tequila is now my friend!!!!!!!!!!

Tequila and I go way back... back when I was in my 3rd year of high school, having it for the first time one night, and breaking down and crying about every drunken thing I could find a drunken reason to drunkenly cry about for at least 2-3 hours... Great night. I do love a shot of good silver...
