F1's sold by vendors that don't make sense

Are you saying a new species all together? If a plant is an F1 then it has to be a cross of some type. So at that point you would have I think 50/50 chance of it being the mother phenotype or fathers phenotype.

    seeds Butch T germination times

Have you checked them in the soil? They may be having a hard time getting through. Mine usually pop through in 1-2 weeks, especially when they're on a germ pad.

    seeds Interesting problem with seedlings

Not on my seedlings once they are in the 4" pots, but when they are in the flats they have vented lids I use. I used some BTI on them today earlier, went back a bit ago and can already see some dead ones in the soil, made me quite happy!

It's 50% peat moss, 45% compost, 5% Pearlite.    At night my greenhouse it's around 75 with heater on. During the day it's 80-90 depending on time of day.

    seeds Interesting problem with seedlings

My lids have air holes in them but the bottom flats have no drainage and I think it's fungus gnats that I have, just went down to the greenhouse (yes at 1:45 in the morning) to check it out and it's fungus gnat larvae causing the stunted growth and other issues. So I'm looking for some ways to...

    seeds Interesting problem with seedlings

Thanks! I'll replant them tomorrow in fresh new soil. I'm just wondering if I should use some type of pesticide on the roots or just clean them really well before repotting.

    seeds Interesting problem with seedlings

My soil is moist buy not "wet" or soaking, the stunted growth tray was a bit wet the other day so I have taken it out of it's tray bottom to dry out a bit. I'm not seeing much root growth so I'm wondering it I have something that is eating the roots and this is causing their problem.

F1's sold by vendors that don't make sense

I think it's up to us mostly, we have to know what is right and not right to sell as a cross or pure line pepper. I for one would never give someone seeds knowing they may be crossed, I would just feel bad that they were not getting the pepper they wanted to grow. So I'm with you on that 100%! I...

    seeds Interesting problem with seedlings

Well something has happened to some of my seedlings, killed off about 20 of my seedlings overnight, they were fine then I came back the next day and they were withered with leaves curled up and other dried at the tips.    Another tray has for some reason stopped growing at all, they are stunted...

F1's sold by vendors that don't make sense

I understand where you are coming from on selling unstable seeds because of the high variation in pods phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, and I know exactly where you got these seeds from because I bought some as well as other seeds from there! They were not that expensive and the main...

    Lawrence's Hixson 2014 Glog

Had something odd happen, had a flat of my 7 Pot BBG's, Primo x B.S, Sepia Serpent, and Reaper x B.S that for some reason decided to just go down on me. I have no idea what happened but I thought it may have been too much water or some type of deficiency so I put them into their 4" pots and used...

Stress or optimum: what makes for hotter fruits

I think it depends on a lot more than a watering schedule. To me it's the soil, what's in it and how good it is for the plant i.e., does it have in terns of nutrients what will keep them going.    If you water less than usual to stress them I have found it to make the pods hotter when my soil...

    Opened mail packages

They may think the powders are some type of drug, I'm assuming under x-ray powder looks the same no matter the type, and the dried pods may look like pot buds.
