you probably have to change your seed source, there are plenty reputable seeds vendors, most of them have intl shipping. there is a separate forum here for vendor reviews, pick one vendor, stay off ebay or amazon , grab a cone-type coffee filter, ziplock bag, water, warm place, 1-2 weeks..and...

Also, I do not think fungus gnats threat level is about right. Even indoors, on the current scoring, it's higher than mites or aphids. You cannot compare broad mites damage or aphids damage with fungus gnats. And controlling gnats is much more easier/precise than mites, bottom watering, sticky...

why's that dish so far away from the house ? perhaps because of the trees? it can't be a sprinkler. why not sticking it on the porch or on that pole, what's that pole standing for ?

I hate those and their stupid hiding habits. I'm allergic to stings, so it's like waiting to be stung. And it's not like I can always see or hear them. I hate those!

For two stinking months, it has been like this:     no growth just cotyledons slowly getting yellowish. All things suggesting the end was near.   Then all of a sudden     it started to put new leaves, while the older ones were getting darker green. It definitely wants to live.

Ardei means pepper in Romanian. It's like the term Paprika which means pepper in Hungarian. There is no relation to the word Aji, none that I know of anyway.   Naturally there are hot peppers (ardei iute in Romanian) and sweet peppers (ardei or ardei gras - gras is a common name for bell sweet...

He could have listed hotness over sweetness for a reason, but than again he went for aji dulce, and he bite from it like it was a reaper :)

If no roots are coming through the net, it would be very easy to remove them, just cut the net with small scissors, take small cuts while pulling gently one side of the fabric and it's off. As Smiley said, be gentle, as you can easily break them.   If roots are already out of the net or just...

Come on tell us how much your lights are drawing. I bet the irony starts in summer when your installation starts to produce like crazy and you're better off putting your plants outside anyway. I guess it's perfect for the seedlings though.

Honestly I would wait till the end of the month. The lowest we had here in the last 4 months were around 3-4 and most of peppers left outside died.     Not to mention, exactly one year ago it snowed here and it went to close to 0 degrees...hopefully not the case this year :pray:

I will be joining hands with Hein on this thread and post my progress on 2014 season and hopefully spread the love for Hungarian paprikas. I have the same seeds source as Hein:   these are very good seeds, took only a few days to germinate. Sowed hungarian wax, pritamin and kapia a month...

The seed casing is full metal jacket. It took 3 weeks. It should have been soaked in HNO3.

I probably do not have: enough space, a long season, any clue what I'm doing hell, I don't even live in CONUS   but I do have plenty of enthusiasm though and what a perfect way to make a complete fool out of yourself :)   I'd like to join.

Try using vacuum. I  use a mini table vacuum cleaner that runs on rechargeable batteries. I catch several dozen just by waiving it over the plants. I've found sticky traps working too slow, it does the job done, but very slow.
