I have to say the pepper powder may not work. I have 2 stubborn German Shepherds. I tried black pepper and then cayenne pepper powder and they just licked it up off the ground. But they also try to eat there poop so they may be a little off.
I'm in the same boat. I'm just going to let them ride it out and see who's left standing. My habaneros stay outside all yr and they have lived for 3 Yrs. I think we only have to worry if it's going below zero or frosting.
I can't say for sure for you. But in southeast Texas the last 2 summers were terrible for me at least. It just stayed to hot and unfortunately as mentioned above both high day and night temps are bad for superhots. I wouldn't say it's a lost cause I would just try again and hope for a normal...
Ok so I'm starting to see worrying signs on my plants. I came home today to find spots on almost all of my 6 pepper plants. Here's what they look like.

Nice looking peppers and plant. I hope to grow them next year it's good to hear they progress faster than superhots. Do you have them in the ground or in a pot?
I'm glad I'm not the only one getting a reprieve. This summer was crazy not overly hot but just not enough to hamper all my plants. since my last posting mine are going crazy. So many pods and new flowers. I'm just going to hope we don't get any weird cold fronts that come through.
I'm south of Houston so I guess setx is more appropriate. This summer was terrible it stayed so hot it just kept dropping flowers. Finally this cool snap brought us into the high 80s day temp.
Just thought I would share my triumph with y'all since this forum contributed almost all the knowledge to get me here. Just some background I started these plants in may and in pots . Not optimal I know but I'm just proud I got them here and they are my first plants started from seeds. They are...

I'm located in Southeast Texas our days have been about 95 plus. I water them as they need it really I check them daily to see how dry or moist the soil is. They get mid morning to afternoon sun. And they are planted in miracle grow potting soil.
Ok I'll try to get some pictures up. They are in pots and outside. They are getting about 8 10 hours of hot bright sunlight. I'm using a generic fertilizer from Bonnie once every two weeks but I'm thinking of switching to miracle grow. They are having bug problems I beleave but I can't ever...
Hello everyone I was looking for some advice on things I can do to help my sad scorpion pepper plants. I've fertilized the soil and paid close attention to my watering. The plants seem to have wilted deformed new growth and the leaves feel dry and paper like. Also the green is very light and...
